Personality: Bokkai enjoys the idea of everything being in its place and doing what it is supposed to do. This doesn't mean, however, that's he's cold and  calculating; he believes its perfectly possible for the finer things in life to be enjoyed without the loss of propriety. He tries to be proper and polite with everyone he meets, causing many to view him as a snob. In professional environments, he's a whiz, but in more social and easy-going places, he's fish out of water. He continually tries to deny the past, in both himself and others, though the conscious avoidance of it actually causes him to become obsessed with it.

History: Bokkai's father was extremely abusive, having a breakdown under the strain of caring for a family. While Bokkai was able to "stand" the abuse, his younger brother Akira couldn't and eventually died from it. His father ran and was eventually captured by the authorities. The death of Akira hit his mother the hardest, putting her in an asylum. Bokkai himself was taken into the care of the state and was eventually adopted. To this day, Bokkai cannot remember the name or face of his legal guardian, though he does remember that he loves him deeply. His guardian enchanted Bokkai with the classical world, schooling him in social manners, philosophy, and fencing, which his guardian insisted on most vehemently. Bokkai saw in this a beautiful world that made far more sense than his earlier family life. He decided that the world as it is now was a disordered mess where one can never be truly happy for long and decided to change it, to "revolutionize" how people treated their lives. Of late, his guardian sent Bokkai to the Academy, paying for tuition and boarding with a large deposit. Upon reaching the Academy, Bokkai suddenly found it impossible to remember details about his guardian and, more inexplicable, knew all about the duels.
