Anime Character They Look Like: Hikari Horaki from Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Appearance: Ran has a thin, petite build. She has dark brown
eyes and
hair, which is done up to two tails. Her
face is an
oval, freckled, with a tiny nose.
Clothing Description: Ran normal sticks to jeans and baggy t-shirts.
She occasionally pulls out the rare sundress if she's stuck
going to a formal affair.
Personality: Ran is introverted and shy. She doesn't have
much in the way of social skills and thus doesn't try. She
keeps to herself to avoid embarrassment.
When she's finally drawn out, Ran is cheerful, though
she lacks the social graces. She's a sci-fi otaku through
and through, going nuts over the latest comic or movie or
TV show or model kit or whatever. She enjoys watching the
unusual and impressive, in real life as well, causing her
to occasional show her face at sporting events.
History: Ran's parents divorced when she was seven. Her
father retained custody of her, while her mother retained
custody of her brother. While they visited occasionally,
Ran never really knew her mother or her brother.
Ran took a great interest in her father's work. She could
never get the hang of drawing, but she tried to make it up
by developing her writing skills. Her father was a very loving
man and Ran grew up in a happy home.
Then, her father was hit by a bus.
After Gendo's death, Ran was put in the custody of her
mother. Because her brother was in college and her mother
had not planned on having another child to care for, Ran was
alone when she wasn't at school. She submersed herself in manga,
edging more and more into science fiction, eventually becoming
a hard core otaku.
Her mother sent her to Heion Kisetsu Academy when it became
obvious that she couldn't care for her as she should.
