Miyako leaned back from looking out the window. She had seen
nothing
but a blanket of dark blue ocean with frequent reflections of the moon.
There
was no light in the Helicoter except for the controls that were infront
of
the pilot and that didn't make much. She sighed and thought of her
teacher
then Hoshi, the only mother she ever knew. She hadn't been forced to go
to
the academy, but she knew that she would miss them both very much.
Breaking
her train of thought, the pilot told her that they would be landing soon
and
to get ready to get off. No sooner had he announced this; Miyako felt the
sudden jolt of the air craft landing on a surface. As she stepped she
bowed
her head and thanked the man.

*Aiden was in the arms of some woman who he recognized but didn't

know
the name of. She was crying softly, her hand clutching his and the other
one
supporting him. He looked down. His hand was resting on his stomach. He
pulled it away to find it was covering a stab wound. He tried to sit up,
but
fell back when he found the pain to hard to bear...
"Shen..." murmured the woman as she bent down and kissed him on
the
forehead, brushing away some loose strands of hair.
He closed his eyes and sank into darkness...*

Aiden shot up from his bed, breathing heavily. He looked
panicked
around his room, realizing that it was just a dream. He took a deep sigh
and
pulled back his sheets. He saw a flash of the stab wound but when he
blinked
it disappeared. He stood up and began to pace. Running his hand over his
forehead it pulled it back to see a faint trace of blood. He walked over
to
his desk and flipped on the light to once again see it gone. Another deep
sigh...
The dream... It had been so vivid, so real. As if he was
actually
there, dieing in the arms of some person that he didn't even know.
Suddenly
a
glimpse of the woman who held him as if he was her own. As the image
began
to
fade he grasped it and tried to hold it in his mind. However, the details
slipped through his mental fingers like water. He walked over to a mirror
on
the wall. "Get a hold of yourself Aiden. It was just a dream." He looked
to
the floor and saw his dream come to life. He was there, being held by the
woman. It was there for a fleeting moment, then. He bent down, grabbed
the
nearest pair of pants and the nearest shirt he could find and threw them
on.
He walked out of the room and slammed the door behind him, hopefully
leaving
the dream there as well.

"Only children make such noise when entering or leaving a room," Koumi
commented as she looked up from the book she was reading in the upper
lounge and glared at Bokkai. "Do you wish to show the whole world the
lack
of manners you possess? I am sure that no one actually cares, but if that
is
your thing, be my guest."

"Good evening to you too, Koumi." Bokkai pointedly ignored Koumi's
comments. He was not going to get drawn into her mind games this time.
No, she could just go back to her book. There was probably some deeply
wrong freudian reason for her tormenting of him.....Now why was he
suddenly smiling at that thought? Putting such ideas down, he crossed
the room and looked out the window. "There's a new student coming.
Perhaps we should go help her find her rooms. I doubt much of the staff
is about at this hour."

She noticed the time her watch read and then placed a bookmark to save
her
page for next time. Stepping beside Bokkai to look at the helicopter pad
far
off in the distance, Koumi gave a nonchalant glance at the new girl
bowing
towards the pilot and grabbed her book to resume her reading. "All of the

buildings on campus are designated with large signs. If the new girl
cannot
read them, then she obviously has more problems to deal with other than
just
finding her room."
*************

As the Helicopter disapeared in the dark sky, Miyako looked around to
find
the dorm she had been asigned. She knelt down to open her medium sized
trunk
and looked to see two pictures, three pairs of clothing and a gift her
mentor
had given her before she had left. She finally found her paper work and
skwinted her eyes to see the writing in the dark.

Aiden rushed out of the dorm house, throwing open the door he
walked
off into the darkness that conceled where he wished to go. His rose ring
glittered under the moonlight. He watched the helicopter land, let out a
student, then take off again. He began to walk over to her to help, but
then
stopped. A flash of his dream came back and he turned back to where he
was
going. Walking across the school grounds he saw the perimeter wall of the

school. He searched it for the doors to Spring. He thought back to when
he
was in there with Theresa. Sure... That chick wasn't the friendliest
person
in the world but he was sure that she had answers. She seemed the type
that
would.
He pressed his hand up against the door when suddenly another
flash
hit him. He grasped his stomach. He could almost feel the stab wound
pulsing
there. He threw his weight up against the door and walked it after
looking
back to make sure no one was watching him. Still grasping his stomach he
shut
the door leaving but a sliver open... Just enough to catch the eye of
someone
walking by.
Slowly the pain in his stomach faded and he was able to walk
normal
again. He trudged up the flower covered hill. He found himself on the top
of
the hill he had been attacked on before. He sat down and then fell on his

back, looking up at the stars. Suddenly, within a blink, he passed out of
the
grass of the hill.

Miyako walked a little to her right then saw the outline of
someone in
the distance. *Hey, maybe they can help me.* She set her things down not
thinking anyone would steal what little she had and grabbed the gift her
instructer had given, a silver sword with a rose wraped around the
handle.
She fallowed him silently, fnally finding herself in a beautiful garden
type
place. The air was sweet and brisk yet it had a bit of warmth. She walked
on
the gasped as she saw a young man lieing on the ground.
*************

Bokkai glowered at Koumi. *Sure, I'm the one who needs to learn more
manners...* Suddenly, he felt his mind stiffen with need. Not saying
anything, he walked out of the lounge and proceeded out of the dorm.
Without knowing it, he began heading towards the Door of the Spring. The
little corner of his mind that was always sure of everything was ringing
with fear, fear of something it didn't know. However, it didn't want to
confront or pacify or ally. It just wanted him to observe...

Miyako ran to the side of the red haired young man and kneeled down. She
shook him gently to stir him. "Sir, Sir. . . Please wake up." She said
with
urgency. She felt for a pulse and was releaved that he had one. Putting
her
ear to his mouth to feel his breath, she listened, extremely close to
here
the faint noises.

Aiden stirred gently. A faint voice began to draw him back.
He
opened his eyes slowly. He blinked a few times, finding time to get used
to
the darkness. He saw the face of a girl. He watched as she put her head
to
his chest. He tried to lift his head slowly, but found himself unable, so
he
just laid back down on the plain.

Miyako noticed his jerks of movement and moved her head
directly
over his. "Sir, What happened? Does anything hurt? Do you want me to get
someone?" She sat back to a kneeling pisition giving him plenty of room
to
get up if he could.
************

Koumi glimpsed at her book but no longer found any interest in reading
it.
The words bored her tremendously and she found the slightest hint of a
headache coming on. Strangely, it always happened after she caught
herself
slipping into someone's private thoughts. Telepathy, especially when
uncontrolled, could have some of the most painful side effects. *"Bokkai
is
such an easy person to read. He carries his emotions on his sleeve and
his
thoughts are easy to pilage. However sometimes...sometimes I just do not
care what he is thinking!" She frowned at her inability to control her
powers completely and quietly got up to make her way back to her room.

As usual, her "roommate" was not there, which was more to her liking
anyway.
Yet after she closed the door, Koumi found her eyes strangely drawn back
outside towards the helipad, and then towards the stone walls of the
school.
Instincts, those primarily of the rose duelist, told her that something
was
taking place on campus. However, Koumi was not one to pry in matters that
did not directly affect her. So she simply closed the blinds and began to
search for
some asprin.

Aiden listened to the girl and shook his head. With a meek "no" he began
to
sit up. Why was all this stuff happening to him? What is the stuff? All
these
flashes and the pain.. It just kept hitting him in waves. He needed
answers... NOW. Aiden began to stand up, but sat back down again when
dizziness hit him. He turned to the girl who was sitting next to him.
"Hi..."
he groaned.

Miyako looked at the boy with concern, "What happened were you
attacked
by something? Do you have a sickness?" She placed her sword next to her
and
gave him a calm, serene smile. "Is there anything that I can do to help
you?"

"I don't really think that you can help me..." Aiden replied
sadly.
*With something like this...* "Really, I'm fine. Just got a little tired
or
something. Such a nice way to meet, eh?" he joked. "My name is Aiden.
Normally I'm not so passing-outish. Just today."

Miyako stood, bowed, and gave yet another smile. "I am pleased
to

meet
you Aiden-san. My name is Miyako and I'm very happy that you are ok, but
you
might need rest if you are tired," She stated the obviese.

"I should probably just go back to my room... Rest up a bit. I'm sure I'm
fine... Just, maybe, coming down with the flu or such." Aiden hated lying
to
this girl... She seemed so innocent and kind. But sometimes the innocent
can
be considered the gullible. "Besides... I might know someone who can help
me
if its not just the flu." Aiden thought to Koumi. Sure... They didn't get
along at all and the last time they talked she almost strangled him but
he
had heard rumors. Rumors she was some sort of physic. Maybe she could
tell
him what was wrong.

******************
Dark Duelist Dorms
******************

The door opened before Aiden's knuckles had a chance to knock on it.
Standing in the entryway, clad in red shorts and a black tank top was
Koumi who had retired to her room early in order to rest. Needless to
say,
she did not look pleased at being interrupted. "Yes? You are obviously
here
for some reason, so what is it?"

Bokkai moved behind them silently, just out of sight. He wasn't able to
do this. He wasn't trying to. He just...did it. His feet seemed to be
feather light against the ground. And no matter how hard he tried to, he
couldn't stop listening. It wasn't heightened hearing; all other sounds
were almost muffled. But he picked out every word of theirs with crystal
clarity. Was he even breathing?

Aiden found sudden interest in the ground as he began to talk to Koumi.
"Look, I know that I have no right what-so-ever to ask you, but I need
help." He looked up at her and started. "Lately, for the past few days,
I've
been having these visions. I would say dreams, but these happen while I'm
awake sometimes. I thought you might be able to help me with them."

She stepped aside, giving him permission to step inside her room. This
was
not a guarantee that she would help him though, only a sign that she was
willing to listen to what he had to say. "What makes you think that I can

help you?" Koumi replied as she walked away and took a seat at her desk.
"And more importantly, what could you possibly offer in return for my
assistance?"

************
Miyako sighed as she walked back to her small trunk of belongings. She
was,
yet again, alone in the dark courtyard. Taking out the information that
she
had recieved in the mail she looked at to see where her dorm room was.
*Room
236. I wonder who my room mate could be?*

**************
Aiden bowed respectively and entered the room. After she sat down he
said,
"Well, I've heard rumors. Some say you like some kind of a psychic or
something. I thought that you might be able to help me... If the rumors
are
true." Aiden thought to what he could do in payment. "I could pay you..
Just
I need help. You name it and I'll consider it." He couldn't think of
anything
else to say so he just waited for her response.
**************
Miyako placed her sword back into the trunk of her belongings,
which
would have been easily carried if it haden't been so long. She thought
back
to the boy that she had found out beyond the walls of the School and
wondered
what he could have been doing in such a place. *And he just took off like
that.* She sighed. *I wonder if he's going to be ok.*
*******

The door closed shut behind Aiden and locked itself. Koumi merely glanced
at
the entrance and crossed her long legs demurely. *"So they say I am a
psychic,"* the young woman thought. She supposed she could have been
called
much worse. However if news of her developing powers had gotten around
the
academy this quickly, she knew that basically no one was to be trusted.
Everyone could be a potential blabbermouth, especially concerning matters

that had no business trying to understand. Koumi stared at the redhead
and
then back out at the window. Could he have been the cause why she felt so

uneasy earlier today? Was he the reason why she felt slightly on edge
right
now? "I have no need for your money Aiden." She had something else in
mind
though.

After a long beat of silence, she stood up and pushed him onto her bed so

that he sat upright. The action was so quick, Koumi already had her right

hand on the side of his temple before he had a chance to even register
what
had happened. Heat, warm and mellow, flowed from her palm to let Aiden
know
that he was right in his assumption. ""I can help you with your visions,
but
only for a price. I will begin as soon as you agree to completely comply
with whatever I ask...And I will not name it until I am finished with
you."

Just like that, the nebulous instinct in Bokkai's mind dissolved like
tissue paper. There was almost a sense of...satisfaction. Almost
willfully not noticing, Bokkai stumbled off to his dorm and into bed.

Aiden looked up at her. *I'm hope I'm not going to regret this...* He sighed
slightly and said, "Alright..." softly. He hoped to the gods that what he
would have to do wouldn't be anything bad.

The telepath said nothing, her mind was locked in deep concentration
straining to peirce Aiden's natural mental defenses, the ones that protected
his innermost memories, his dreams, his fears. This was the first time that
Koumi's poewrs had been put to the test. All other occurences just
"happened," not because she willed it. But this time, she was focusing on
being the master of her abilities. She was telling whatever forces that were
guiding her to bear under her will and her will alone.

She grunted a little under the strain, her straightfaced expression almost
turning into a sneer  as she found nothing but random images, brief memories
in the boy's subconcious mind. The air around the two grew cold and dense,
biting their skin and bitterly flowing around their bodies like the Arctic
sea. Aiden, however, in his semi-conscious state was oblivious to the would
outside of his mind. He was only aware of Koumi's presence. He could feel
her weakening a little but still pushing forward ignoring some of his most
private thoughts in order to get to the dream that did not wish to be
discovered.  She redoubled her efforts racing through the scenes until the
broke down the final barrier, an effort which only resulted in a searing
white light washing over her.

The room began to warm up again and when Aiden opened his eyes, there was
Koumi up against the wall dazed, panting a little as she regained her
bearings. A large indenture on the surface behind her signified that she'd
been knocked or thrown into it hard. It was a miracle that her spine wasn't
shattered. Her long legs were sprawled across the floor, her hair had become
unbound and cascaded down her back, but the most unusual things about her
were her eyes. They gave off an ethereal golden glow that faded away with
the coldness leaving the room. Koumi finally regained her senses and stood
up, using a nearby chair for support for the first few minutes. Her right
hand was clutched over her stomach as if she was suffering from an unseen
injury. "The dreams you have been having...are only there to torment you,"
she softly stated. "Shen, wants you dead."

Aiden looked at her with a look of utter confusion and a tad of shock.
"Wait... First off, who the hell is Shen? And why does he want me dead?!"
Aiden took a deep breath ran his hand through his hair nervously. It was
beginning to become a habit of his. "Why is it always me!?" he cried in
frustration to himself. He stopped and suddenly it clicked that Koumi was on
the ground. He walked over and held out his hand. "Here, let me help you
up,"
he said calmly, reassuring himself that everything was going to turn out
fine.

She was already half-standing and thus felt like she did not need his help
at the moment. So she refused Aiden's hand in her usual emotionless manner
and proceeded back toward her bed. Her limp was noticeable and now her
headache came back with a vengence. Yet still she refused any type of
assitance at the moment. She did make a mental note that Aiden offered in
the first place. It was not enough to put put him on her good side but it
was enough to keep him off of the bad.

"Shen," she continued as she reached for the bottle of asprin that had
tumbled onto the floor, "was a duelist of years long past. He was
killed...underhandedly. And your dream was that of his last memory...of
being held by his lover before death caught his final breath." Strangely,
Koumi found her actions, her very words to be completely unlike herself. Her
tone was softer as she told the redhead of what she'd seen. This was because
the dream had touched her. She sympathized for Shen, an emotion she had not
felt for ages. "His spirit still lingers around the place of his death on
the hills of the Spring arena. You, Aiden, you and Theresa did something to
desecrate that place. Shen's angry and now you will be target of his
agression before he decides to finally finish you off." Koumi spoke of his
imminent death as if it was nothing, and it was nothing to her at
least. "I would suppose that seeing Miyako hold you in her lap at the arena
brought back even more memories for the ghost. Something like that would
make a tormented spirit highly upset. Perhaps he will target her as well. I
do not know. It does not matter." She popped a few pills into her mouth and
followed it with a drink of water from a sports bottle. A pain this great
would not subside with a few asprin, but maybe she could fool her body for
the moment, just enough to get some sleep before the aches could truly set
in. "Go to Gitou-san if you wish to know more about Shen. That is all I can
tell you...and now you must go." Koumi closed her eyes and laid down on her
bed, whincing slighly as her back touched the comforter but otherwise
remaining just as calm as she always was. She would not tell Aiden of the
other presence, another god that she felt had a hand at this. It was only
speculation, but it was enough to inquire about in due time. "Close the door
behind once you leave."

He thought back to him and Theresa's kiss in the summer ocean. He bowed deeply and said "Thank you Koumi. You can ask me about what you want in payment whenever you please." He walked out and shut the door and headed out of the dorm. *I need to talk to Theresa about this...*

Kelly stepped out of one of her friend's rooms smiling, "Ok I'll talk to you later." She turned, eyes widening. "Hiya, Aiden!" She screamed and rushed over. She hugged his arm then started to tug it. "You know I never get to see you anymore. Where ya been?"
