Updates

4/10/02       0132 Good morning, everyone! The Coco and Mishu Corner picture has been fixed. You can actually view the thumbnail now! Now if I can figure out why the background won't work....

Hello to my auntie Tip, whom I have not seen since I was a mere 6 years old, and to my cousin B.  I hope you enjoyed my website.

4/5/02 Hey, there! I just discovered an interesting site, classmates.com. For $3.00 a month, you can contact your old junior high and high school buddies.

New section (finally). The premier of Coco and Mishu's Corner.

3/10/02 Wow, have I neglected this site.  I updated the about me section.

Hello to the lovely Genvieve, Pokemon Masters Christopher and Sebby, and beautiful little Genna Bella!

1/7/02 Well, friends, Himeko is a married person.  Yes, indeed.  Haven't had a lot of time to work on the website but good things are coming.

11/6/01 Holy cow! I'm getting married in a little more than 2 weeks! Afterwards, I'm going to introduce new stuff to the website.  Total renovations, baby.  A new page called Coco and Mishu's Corner , focusing on the perspectives of my cats) and the premier of my comic strip (which is all in my head right now) called Nurse Angel Alisa.  I hope you will look forward to it :)

10/3/01 Hurray ! The invitations have gone out and I'll be able to post the wedding pose picture soon.

The sketchbook will have a sudden explosion of new pictures as soon as I can scan them.

9/22/01 Wedding stuff has caused me to neglect the site.  After the invitations go out, I will post the picture I drew for the invitation, but only after, so that the surprise will not be spoiled :)

A new pic in the Sketchbook section.  I'm liking the Sketchbook because it takes a lot less time to polish off the black and white pics, whereas the colored pics took a painstakingly long time to finish.

9/12/01 Yesterday, I called the blood bank at my hospital and found out that many people in the area have answered the call for the need for blood.  And hearing of the huge response of  the volunteers from all over the nation, it was really encouraging that even though all we hear on the news is terrible, that there are really good people out there.

To find out more info on how you can help out in your area, check out www.helping.org

9/11/01 Just a sad update today.  I've been glued to the television watching updates on the tragedy of the World Trade Center all day today.  As a nurse, I feel helpless and wish there was something I could do.  Please, everyone, please give blood.  There was already a shortage before this horrible incident, so please contact a Lifesource or your local hospital to see how you can help out.

8/22/01 Three new pictures are in the Sketchbook gallery.  I want to clarify that the third picture is a fan-art of Digi Charat, and as soon as it's colored in, I will put it in the proper fan art section.  I've never seen the mini-tv series that it comes from, but it has the cutest character designs I have ever seen!

Cleaning up the sketchbook pictures has been a lot faster than finishing a colored in picture, so expect more pictures to come very soon!

8/20/01 Sometime next week, I will be adding a new section to the site called "the Sketchbook" which will contain a lot of black and white drawings from my sketch diary.  A lot of them will be colored in later, when I get the chance, but at least you'll be able to see a lot more of my work :)

8/17/01 I've been asked to join the team at AM Comics (http://auscomics.cjb.net).  I'm really excited and happy to have more people see my artwork, to collaborate with others, and to gather ideas for manga writing.  Please check out the site.  It's really cool.

The updates and about me sections should be easier to read now that I put tables in.

8/16/01 I've updated the wallpapers, giving them a little texture.  You wouldn't believe how long I worked on making original wallpapers!

I will probably get a guest book in here at some point.  I've been focusing on drawing a picture for my wedding invitation.  I'll post those after the invitations go out. (by next month :)  If you have any constructive criticism or any comments about this site, please email me! I'm really happy that more and more people keep coming here.  Please come back often :)

8/15/01

Hurray! Another milestone in the Hideaway history! Himeko's Hideaway has been officially accepted into the Fan Art link section of the Anime Web Turnpike! (www.anipike.com)  It's amazing how many people sign up just to have their site listed every week! Welcome, everyone and please come back often!

I just finished watching Fushigi Yuugi's first OAV series for the second time.  I cried...again.  I love that show.

Please be sure to check out the Otakon convention reports on the Anime on DVD site for updates on upcoming releases.

8/7/01

Hello!  Another birthday come and gone.  I'm 27 :P Kind of scary since I was planning on finding a new field by 30.

A new pic in the gallery.  It's called "Midnight."

Preliminary drawings for the mini-online comic strip will be coming out soon.  The process of coloring my penciled   pictures has been painstakingly slow since I'm still learning how to use Photoshop!  Plus, I'm supposed to be working on my wedding invitation :P

7/27/01 A new picture in the gallery.  It's called "Fairy."  It was reconstructed with Photoshop from an old picture that I drew  with watercolors.  I'm quite pleased with the experimentation with shading :)

7/12/01 More cleaning up of pictures going on, so a few pictures are missing in the gallery. The thumbnails are much smaller, so it should run faster.

7/10/01

Whoo-hoo!  My first "Divi" picture has been accepted to the Divi Art Gallery on the totally awesome Anime on DVD website (www.animeondvd.com, I'm totally there like every night. )  This has been a goal of mine for a long time!  I am so honored!  Thank you, thank you, Chris!  I am planning on drawing some more with a lot more detail :)

I just noticed that a lot of the larger pictures are extremely grainy.  I must apologize.  I am working on cleaning them up right now :)

7/6/01

I've been accepted into the Manga Kodomo Press Webring!  I'm so happy!  Thank you, thank you!

I've also added a new image in the gallery called "Future." The style is a little different from the other pictures, but I was itching to put a new picture up.

7/5/01

I've decided to open a fan art gallery.  It's under construction but I'm thinking of coloring in some old drawings, which were mostly fan art.  A brand new Escaflowne picture and a Ranma picture is in the works currently.

A new image in the gallery was added.  I was thinking of the great Anime on DVD website's mascot, Divi, when I drew it.  If the creator of the website likes it, I would love for him to use it.

7/3/01 New Wallpaper! Hurray!  I drew it myself on Photoshop. I've been looking for a free wallpaper of cherry blossoms, but I decided to keep the site as "homemade" as possible.

6/28/01  All of the picture icons have been totally cleaned up with Photoshop:)  Whew!  It took a long long time to do them though!

6/27/01 There's a new picture in the gallery.  It's called "monochrome."  I tried to make it look like a black and white picture but with hints of color.  I'm looking into applying for admission into an artist web ring.  Any suggestions, anyone?

6/22/01

Two new pictures are in the gallery.  These two pictures are my first ones colored in with Photoshop. "Hannah" was removed because it needed a lot more clean up.

On the side, how embarrassing is this?  Being the amateur artist that I am, (no training whatsoever) I inadvertently showed my meager Prang and Crayola (not that there is anything wrong with them) art watercolors to an Art Institute student. I guess I have to upgrade my supplies :)  Hey, maybe I'm giving hope to the people who start out small, too, right?

6/16/01   Two new images are up for the Gallery and the Updates page. Both were originally colored in with watercolors and lightly touched up with Photoshop.

6/15/01

Hurray! My very first homepage!  I finished two new drawings just for the debut.     I hope you enjoy them.

The first one is called "Hannah" because she kind of reminds me of the character  from the third Tenchi Muyo movie.  The second one is called "China Doll"  because that was the first thing I thought of when I finished it.  They were both drawn with watercolors.

6/15/01 I put up a new "banner" for under construction. I stayed up late finishing the Construction girl.  She's done in all watercolors too.  The picture and the sign were put together with Paintshop Pro.  I also cleaned the white boarder around the girl with Paintshop, but I'm trying to stick with the original water colors on the main picture.  I'll probably want to do more pictures with Paintshop entirely. Enjoy!
