The
photo at top left I call Bridge Over Still Waters. It is at one of
our Plantations here, called Magnolia Gardens. Top right, I call
Home for the Night. It is called Shem Creek about 5 minutes from
my home. They have great seafood restaurants on the creek, and
absolutely fresh fish :-). The photo on the left id of downtown
Charleston. They call Charleston the Holy City, due to so many
church spires. The church in this shot is St. Philips.
Below, is Patriot Point and the Yorktown Museum, where I spend many ours
giving tours. She was identical to my ship, and we operated with
the Yorktown. We saw her get hit and she saw a suicide plane dive
into my ship, so I go over, give tours and tell tourists how we lived
aboard in WW2. She has ghosts aboard !!! Couple years ago. I
was way down in the section where tourists don't go. Dark, rusty,
and I swore I saw the shadows move. I wrote a short story
explaining the episode :-) |
