Band Quotes:
I wrote the song around a time
when there was a lot of news and chat about various cults and
their leaders around the world, and how they were screwed up.
Jesus Christ, I used only as a symbol of cult leadership(
purely because of his recognition, not to suggest Christians
are simply followers of a cult) The song talks about how, when
one falls, there is always another to replace them... cult
like fashion to a degree....
-Darren Middleton
Fan Theories:
Has been said to
be about an old singer John Mellancamp of whom Darren was a
fan, however his quote suggests quite different, as seen
above.
-Kerry.
Lyrics:
Oh Jesus
Christ, what name do you go by now
For time is passing with the wind blows new decrees
Canned for life your used by date is faded
And followers of you now watch TV
What could I do
And tonight your dress is looking shaded
The colours don't seem to captivate
Count the loss I see your moving on now
Pressures off no more people to drag you down
What could I do
On my own I stand naked
Jesus Christ, don't look at me that way |
