though still a young musician, micah is currently the only act playing for us at starlit records at this time. born twenty years ago in memphis, tennesse, micah has been writing and playing shows from a very early age. sitting in with such unknown bands as drowning steven, thefection, aurora, the filmore project, and room 101, he has been been involved with music for quit some time. he landed on a small, short lived record label out of dallas by the name of 'the red crown record empire' and recorded his first semiproffesional ep with lead singer brainchild, brandon carr of the danes (who were also on red crown). intending to release a seven inch of his album, the red crown record empire actually went belly under before anything could be done, due to overspending and lack of actual funds. though still moving on, micah then kept playing shows around texas and around his local bars and venues. striving to make a brand new style of music, micahs music is full of generally acoustic melodies and raspy vocals (due to his years of relentless smoking) he has gathered somewhat of a following around texas, mainly around amarillo, through a couple of albums he has recorded in the past few years. he's opened up for acts such as tripping daisy, the lassie foundation, the juliana theory, the danes, and steamboat. micah is actually due to go soon record a new album with phil the late guitarist of tripping daisy with a new band which is slowly pulling together, who will also be here on starlit. micah has several albums and a few poetry books. hopefully these will be published in the near future on a small publishing company out of san fransisco, california. so pulling at full tilt, micah p hinson is hopefully a name you should look out for in the future.
