LIGHT:
WATER:
TEMP:
PROPIGATION:
|
Foliage: trailing, hanging
Bright location with no direct sunlight.
Allow soil to dry some between waterings.
Prefers 16-27ºC (60-80ºF), no less than 13ºC (55ºF).
Stem and leaf cuttings.
|
SPECIAL PROBLEMS:
Over watering can result in root and base rotting. Sudden leaf loss may be caused from exposer to the cold or under watering.
NOTE:
There are several varieties of Peperomia with a large diversity of leaf types, appearances and growing patterns. All, however, do best in a growing medium with a high ratio of peat moss.

Succulent
Low light tolerant, but will tolerate some direct sun.
Likes soil to dry out between waterings, water sparingly in winter.
Prefers 16-27ºC (60-80ºF) Minimum 10ºC (50ºF) in winter.
Whole or part leaf cuttings (See Note below).
|
SPECIAL PROBLEMS:
Rotting at the plant base is caused by either overwatering in the winter or from exposure to temperatures below 10ºC (50ºF)
NOTE: If propigation is attempted using part leaf cuttings, enshore that the cutting is oriented vertically in the same direction. Cuttings will not root upside down.

VENUS FLY TRAP
(Dionaea muscipula)
|
TYPE:
LIGHT:
WATER:
TEMP:
PROPIGATION:
|
Foliage, Flowering
Likes direct sunlight, however, protect it from strong summer rays.
Keep soil constantly moist. Some sources suggest to only use rain water.
?
?
|
SPECIAL PROBLEMS:
Tends to be a short lived plant.
NOTE:
This plant will do best in a soil mixture of 60% peat moss and 40% sand.
Never give these plants fertilizer. If no insects are available for the plant to catch, try feeding them bits of raw hamburger.
If in good health, Venus Fly Traps will flower in the spring.
These plants evolved insectivorous habits as an adaptation to areas with poor soil nutrients.
