Yo,
Just used your "Find Duplicates" program to clean up my photos on my hard drive.
Took me about five minutes and saved me a day's worth of work. Thanks...
you rock. :)

Hello
Thank you for a very useful utility. It helped me unscramble a mess of 10Gb of photos,
deleting a lot of duplicates which had been put in one place or another for editing or
whatever.
You asked for suggestios for improvements: well, how about some simple statistics? I
suggest a real-time display of things like
- number of files being checked
- number of duplicate files found
- space occupied by duplicate files
I'd suggest that the number of duplicate files and occupied space is calculated on the
basis of one file instance being denoted as an "original" and excluded from the
calculation, and all other instances counting towards the totals.
Just my five cents worth.
Thanks again for a very useful program.

Hello Arnab,
I found your site searching for a duplicate file finder and "Find
Duplicates" is just what I wanted. It is faster than the program I was
already using and gives me the information I need regarding duplicate files.
Are you are still continuing to develop the program? If so, then there are
some idea I have about additional features.
What horror sci-fi did you read about the registry becoming bigger and
bigger?? It sounds fascinating and is almost true in Windows XP!!!
If you want to look at what can be done with computer graphics check
www.cybia.co.uk. Steve has done some useful additions for 2D & 3D programs
and also produces prints of some of his graphics, he has done some excellent
computer enhancements of photographs. Mention my name if you do contact him,
Steve and I communicate about software (and other subjects).
I've downloaded your mathematical problems, that will keep me thinking
for some time!! It's 40+ years since my university days and the old brain is
not what it used to be!!! Electrical engineering was my subject but I've
always had an interest in pure mathematics and logical problems.
If you like optical illusions (http://www.optillusions.com/ is a site I
have known for some time) then do you know the work of Escher? There are a
number of web sites about his work and if you have not seen it then I
suggest you have a look at what he has done.
As you may have realised by now, I've looked at most of your web site.
All your efforts were well worth it - a good looking site. All the
information is there without too many "bells & whistles". A site I'll keep
looking at for any changes or additions.
Best regards,
Dave Gordon

Cool! I was just wondering if such a utility existed, and it does and it's
free and it works! So thank you! I'm currently scanning my data drive..
yikes, lots of junk there.
One suggestion for future versions -- in the Comparison Results pane, it
would be nice if you could in the Right-Click on a file and select "open
folder" or something to that effect... or at least "copy file name" and get
the file name in the clipboard, for ease of emailing other people and
telling them to clean up their junk.
Also it would be nice to be able to save the results list in another format
for the same reason. (Such as PDF...) but I suppose with the program being
all one file it wouldn't be too difficult for me to send the exe along with
the note!
Thanks :)

Thank you for your very useful Find Duplicates utility.
I have been looking around to find something to help clean up my downloads
and out of several commercial and shareware utilities yours was the most
useful and best implemented.
If you are looking for suggestions for additional features the only thing I
would like to see added would be the option to Open a file when you right
click on it in the file list. I sometimes run across files that are the
same size but different file names. If I am not sure if they are in fact
the same file, viewing them with their associated windows app would help to
decide if they are true dups.
I searched for "Find duplicate files" on Google and your web page was at
the top of the list. Good choice on file name.
Thanks again for your great work.

Hi!
I just want to say THANK YOU for your great FindDuplicates Tool. I needed
some time to find it - and tested a commercial program before I found yours.
Other people want a lot of money for tools which are not as good as this
one.
Wouldn't it be nice to have an option to just MOVE the duplicate files (and
not to delete them)?

Thank you for this freeware!
In LockerGnome forums, some peeps were having problems with using (and
crashing their systems) with the duplicate file finder utility that used to
be part of jv16 tools (which no longer is freeware).
I made a comment about "FRIENDs only recommend FRIENDs FREEware"!
I was challenged and your nifty little utility was my trump card; up my
sleeve!
Thank you! I will be recommending it to others!
You rock and FREEware rule!
Thank you!

Just a suggestion. I have been scouring the web for a simple duplicate =
file find/delete program. Your utility is just what I am looking for, =
and the price is right too! Thank you...
But, I am often in Windows Explorer when looking for duplicate files. I =
think it would be helpful to be able to right click, and scan for =
duplicates. But, I hate Shells. Right clicking on a folder brings up too =
many things, and tends to slow the PC down.
It would be better to right click, and "Send To" your file duplicate =
program. I tried putting a shortcut to your program in the Send To =
folder, but it doesn't populate the source box. I still have to "add" =
the folder to the source list. The "add" feature is nice, but it would =
also be nice to be able to "send to", from Windows Explorer.
I'm not a programmer, but "send to" is kind of like a command line =
argument. Maybe your program could test for this argument, and then use =
it to populate the source folder box.
As far as I can see, your program would be unique, in the world of =
duplicate file find programs. There has to be a number of people like =
me, that have tons of digital pictures and mp3s, that drag and drop them =
around on hard drives, then struggle to find the duplicates. It would be =
nice to just "right click", "send to", "auto mark", and delete.
Just a thought. Again, thanks for a very nice program.=20
PS Your web page looks great.

de-dupe? BRILLIANT! Just what I needed.
Many, many thanks

Hello there,
I googled for a duplicates remover, and the topmost hit is a 6.8 MB
download... your little bit of magic did whatever I wanted - in 21 KB!
Good show!
