Since I have released Ludo, I have been getting requests for source code of Ludo by stuudents for the purpose of learning, and most concern learning Visual Basic. However, Ludo was not written in VB. So I finally decided to write a program in VB which I can distribute. It is VBCheckers. The source code is however available only on request - I don't want this to end up as school projects for introductory computer classes!
Do not however be discouraged, this is more than just a VB tutorial! Even if you don't care for the source, you will find this game interesting if you like checkers. The rules that this game follows are simple:
I am not sure, but I believe this comprises more or less of original checkers. If anyone knows correct rules and thinks the above set of rules is incorrect or incomplete, please contact me. The game puts up a decent fight and is likely to defeat the average player. It also has undo/redo features, and ability to save game. A simple notation window can also be displayed. If there is a standard notation for checkers game, please contact me. My email address is hirak_99@myrealbox.com.
Hope you like it!
