Alice's Tea Cup: Breakfast menu runs from 8am-11:30am every morning and consists of egg dishes, pancakes, specials, fresh coffee and of course tea and scones. (muffins and cupcakes for commuters in the am)
Brunch runs on weekends from 10am-3pm and consists of egg dishes, Benedicts, crepes and a Breakfast Afternoon Tea, in addition to our regular menu. Their hottest item is a French Toast Bread Pudding which is french toast cubes baked in a pudding dish and "attacked" with creme anglaise, maple syrup and carmel sauce... the further down you get into the dish, the more pudding-like it becomes. Dinner is on Friday and Saturday from 6-10pm and consists of entrees and salads including lamb, cod, risotto, beet and goat cheese salad and a seafood salad in addition to our regular menu.
They serve a children's party book so that parents can customize their own party at Alice's Tea Cup, choosing from fairy dress-up parties or an Alice-themed party where Alice does face painting, a magician's party, party favors, cakes.

Cafe Botanica: Just outside the entrance to the elegant CafEBotanica is a small foyer in the lobby of the Essex House Hotel where afternoon tea is served. Though the art deco marble and mahogany d¨¦cor is not as lush or private as the plant laden CafE the tea service is top notch. Consult with the educated wait staff before choosing from the large selection of artfully displayed teas. Don't rush. The teapot is filled continually, so there's plenty of time to savor the exquisite tray of pastries, sandwiches, and scones with homemade lemon curd and strawberry preserves. Casablanca: If you're looking for a pot of estate darjeeling and
scones this is not your tea spot. If on the other hand you've ever wanted
to order Morrocan mint tea or peach oolong and nibble on spicy olives while
feeding your significant other chicken phyllo triangles you are in luck.
This restaurant in the trendy lounge store has a terrific Casbah setting
(white washed walls, tented ceilings, decorative arches and lights, strewn
rose petals) and backround, DJ selected, music from the store (on my visit
the Rolling Stones and dance music). The mezze/tapas are delicious (and
around $4.50 each) and they will be adding more entres to the menu soon.
Along with a baklava type dessert they also have pastry from Payard ($6.50
for an eclair). They are at 164 Mercer the back end of the store. The store has an enterance on Broadway.
Danal: With the smells of good cooking, the jazz singer on the stereo, the old French farmhouse tables and chairs to match the French regional food, and a verdant back garden, Danal seems to be very far away from the Big City. There are comfy couches by the fireplace (it's an artificial blaze, unfortunately) and lots of objets scattered around-photos in frames, candlesticks, pitchers. Choose from more than 20 teas offered with scones, tea sandwiches and desserts.

They have 80 kinds of tea and a great pumpkin carmel tart in the fall (a friend liked their key lime recently). The china, silverware and many, many teapots have been donated by warm-hearted people in the Union County area. Hats, gloves and beads are also available for the use of their younger customers. A selection of fresh tea sandwiches and specialty sandwiches are made daily; the guests are able to enjoy a full luncheon. Of course, they offer an extensive collection of loose and herbal teas for you to choose from. For dessert, there is a tasty selection of freshly made dainties.
