Introduction Here are introduction to both Cardcaptors and Cardcaptor Sakura. Those periwinkle thingies are my comments. If you love dub, I don't know what the heck yer doin' in my site. But go to Nelvana.com or something, and get the heck outta here. Well, let's disssect our specimen, CCS fans! Dub. When released, anger and disgust shall take over CCS fans. Resembling the great Oriental myths and legends of history(What legend of history.. it takes place in modern Japan... and Sakura's magics are more European than Oriental...), Cardcaptors is the epic story(LOL! Epic story?!) of an ordinary young girl who becomes a hero(ya mean heroine... and she doesn't end up as a heroine; she ends up as card mistress.) as she struggles to save the world from destructive magical forces(destructive magical forces? Sure... "Sweet Card"... very destructive...). In ancient times(Clow isn't that old...), a powerful sorcerer named Clow Reed harnessed the power of magic into separate, distinct enties--(no he didn't... he created a whole different set of magic...) Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, Clouds, Wind, Rain, and Electricity(I wonder what happened that split these elements into Sweet and Dash and Flower and stuff...). When the entities became unwiedly and dangerous(Clow made them... he had total control over them...), he captured their powers and contained them within cards(He didn't capture them! He made them!!!). These Clow Cards were put into the mystical(mystical?) Clow Book and sealed to protect the world(from "destruction", which you guys totally butchered.). Clow reed designed the book so it could only be released by someone possessing magical powers(No, he knew Sakura will find it and open it.). To protect the book's contents, Clow Reed created a protector(nah... He created Kero and Yue 'cause he felt like it.)-- Keroberos(you don't like Greek mythology, do you.), the Guard Beast of the Seal, who rules the Sun(and Earth.). 'Kero(More accurately KIIro)' embodies the form of a small yellow creature who becomes the Cardcaptor's valued mentor and teacher(Mentor and teacher are same words. You choose that on SAT sentence completion and you've just lost few points. And let's remember that Kero-chan is Sakura's sweet friend and protector.). And on the back of the book, Clow Reed created Yue(Yue is not a back cover of a book! >:P He was created first, then placed on the book later when Clow died!), who rules the Moon. Yue is the judge of those who come into possession of the cards, deciding if they are worthy of such possession(And he can also bring on the "destruction"... but that's too sissy, right?). The Clow Book was carefully hidden from prying eyes(Clow and Li family were only ones who even know it existed.) for thousands of years(hundreds, you mean...), only to be discovered by(CLAMP never told us how he got it.) the archaeologist Aiden Avalon(cough Kinomoto Fujitaka cough), father of the future Cardcaptor Sakura. Possessing no magic himself, Aiden was unable to open the book(He didn't try...), and it collected dust on his shelf(I"m not sure about the dust part... it was smack in the middle of the library....)-- until it was accidentally opened by his daughter Sakura, releasing the magical powers that had been so carefully contained by Clow Reed into our present world(It wasn't "carefully contained". Clow created the cards, and he knew Sakura will open the book.). And now, it is Sakura's destiny to collect the Clow Cards, harnessing their power and keeping them from causing trouble in the world once more(Keeping the world out of destruction....). For she is... The Cardcaptor(*cocks an eyebrow* and not the only one, huh?). Intro written by Nelvana people; featured on clowbook.com. Thank goodness I don't own cardcaptors. Clow Card. When the seal has been broken, chaos will take over the world. "Clow Cards" that have "magic" ran off to the real world after taking a solid form and are doing all kind of bad things! Because "Guardian of the Seal" Kero-chan asked her, 4th grader Sakura is trying her best to seal the cards away today, too! (I can't accurately translate just how cute this sounds...) Intro came from cardcaptor Sakura manga volume 1. CCS belongs to CLAMP. |
