Esther (Esther) Chapter 7 (Continued)

Ester 7:5 Then King Ahasuerus asked Queen Ester, "Who is he, and where is he, who would presume to do thus?"

Haman’s heart must have skipped a beat.

Ester 7:6 And Ester said, "A foe and an enemy, is this wicked Haman!" Then Haman became terrified before the king and queen.

First Haman was honored by the invitation to the banquet. Then he was humiliated when he had to lead Mordecai through the town. Now he is horrified.

Ester 7:7-8 And the king arose in his anger from drinking wine and went into the palace garden; but Haman stayed to beg for his life from Queen Ester, for he saw that harm had been determined against him by the king. Now when the king returned from the palace garden into the place where they were drinking wine, Haman was falling on the couch where Ester was. Then the king said, "Will he even assault the queen with me in the house?" As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.

The king misinterprets Haman’s act of begging for his life as an attack on the queen.

Ester 7:9 Then Harbonah, one of the eunuchs who were before the king said, "Behold indeed, the gallows standing at Haman's house fifty cubits high, which Haman made for Mordecai who spoke good on behalf of the king!" And the king said, "Hang him on it."

The gallows were 50 cubits high and were in full view of all to see.

Haman is thrown out of the king’s court. Ha Satan will be thrown out of the court of the Most High G-d.

Rev 12:10-12 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our G-d, and the authority of His Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our G-d day and night, has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short."

accuser of our brothers - This is a term used for Ha Satan.

Ester 7:10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai, and the king's anger subsided.

Hanged - remember this means, “impaled” in the Persian culture.

Justice is done.

Just as Haman is destroyed, so Ha Satan will be destroyed.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Cheer! Yippee! Hooray!
