Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) Chapter 11 (Continued)

Yechezk'el 11:16-21 "Therefore say: `This is what the Sovereign L-RD says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.' "Therefore say: `This is what the Sovereign L-RD says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.' "They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols. I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their G-d. But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign L-RD."

I will gather you from the nations - This was a short-term fulfillment when they leave Babylon. However, many never returned. The long-term fulfillment is beginning to take place with Israel becoming a nation again in 1948 and the Jewish people beginning to return to the Promised Land. He will restore Israel and will reign forever and ever.

Heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh - Many have a heart of stone and continue to reject their Messiah. The day is coming that their eyes will be open and they will have a heart of flesh and accept Yeshua as their Messiah.

Revelation 11:15-19 For just then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting down from heaven, "The Kingdom of this world now belongs to our L-rd, and to his Messiah; and he shall reign forever and ever." And the twenty-four leaders sitting on their thrones before G-d threw themselves down in worship, saying, "We give thanks, L-rd G-d Almighty, who is and was, for now you have assumed your great power and have begun to reign. The nations were angry with you, but now it is your turn to be angry with them. It is time to judge the dead and reward your servants-prophets and people alike, all who fear your Name, both great and small-and to destroy those who have caused destruction upon the earth." Then, in heaven, the temple of G-d was opened and the ark of his covenant could be seen inside. Lightning flashed and thunder crashed and roared, and there was a great hailstorm, and the world was shaken by a mighty earthquake.

Yechezk'el 11:22-25 Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the G-d of Israel was above them. The glory of the L-RD went up from within the city and stopped above the mountain east of it. The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia in the vision given by the Spirit of G-d. Then the vision I had seen went up from me, and I told the exiles everything the L-RD had shown me.

Here the Glory of the L-rd departs on the Mount of Olives. Later Yeshua would also depart from us on the Mount of Olives.

Yeshua also left from the Mount of Olives into the clouds.

Acts 1:6-13 And so when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, "L-rd, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?" He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; but you shall receive power when Ruach HaKodesh has come on you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. " And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was departing, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them; and they also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Yeshua, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven." Then they returned to Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) from the MOUNT called OLIVET, which is near Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), a Sabbath day's journey away.

He will also return to the Mount of Olives.

Zechariah 14:3-8 Then the L-RD will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. 4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. And you will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the L-RD, my "G-D", will come, and all the holy ones with Him! And it will come about in that day that there will be no light; the luminaries will dwindle. For it will be a unique day which is known to the L-RD, neither day nor night, but it will come about that at evening time there will be light. And it will come about in that day that living waters will flow out of Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter.

We will also discuss this when we get to chapter 43.

Yechezk'el 43:1-5 Then he led me to the gate, the gate facing toward the east; and behold, the glory of the G-d of Israel was coming from the way of the east. And His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory. And it was like the appearance of the vision which I saw, like the vision which I saw when He came to destroy the city. And the visions were like the vision which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face. And the glory of the L-RD came into the house by the way of the gate facing toward the east. And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the L-RD filled the house.
