Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) Chapter 1 (Continued)

We see a face of a lion. This of course points us to Yeshua's kingship. He is called the Lion of the tribe of Y'hudah (Judah). We also see this attribute in the scroll of Mattityahu (Matthew) which emphases His Kingship as its main theme.

We see an Ox, which represents Yeshua's servant hood. He servant hood is illustrated in the good news of the scroll of Mark.

Romans 15:8-9 For I say that Messiah has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of G-d to confirm the promises given to the fathers, and for the Gentiles to glorify G-d for His mercy;

We also see a "nesher" or unclean bird. This represents Yeshua's deity. We touched on how HaShem and Yeshua described themselves as a bird with wings protecting their young. A bird can see a long distance and is symbolic of His all-seeing eyes. Why is He described as an unclean bird? (Ex. 11:13) This is symbolic of the Holy Son of the Father taking upon Himself our sins. The scroll that corresponds and illustrates His Deity is the scroll of Yochanan (John).

Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you which was also in Yeshua HaMashiach who, being in the form of G-d, did not consider it robbery to be equal with G-d, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the execution stake. Therefore G-d also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Yeshua HaMashiach is L-RD, to the glory of G-d the Father.

Yechezk'el 1:15-21 Now as I looked at the living beings, look, there was one wheel on the earth beside the living beings, for each of the four of them. The appearance of the wheels and their workmanship was like sparkling beryl, and all four of them had the same form, their appearance and workmanship being as if one wheel were within another. Whenever they moved, they moved in any of their four directions, without turning as they moved. As for their rims they were lofty and awesome, and the rims of all four of them were full of eyes round about. And whenever the living beings moved, the wheels moved with them. And whenever the living beings rose from the earth, the wheels rose also. Wherever the spirit was about to go, they would go in that direction. And the wheels rose close beside them; for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels. Whenever those went, these went; and whenever those stood still, these stood still. And whenever those rose from the earth, the wheels rose close beside them; for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.

Wheels -movement of the Spirit of G-d. Wheels within wheels may mean multi-dimensional. The Word of HaShem has different dimensions. (PRDS) In our studies we have seen wheels within wheels concerning what happened to Israel in the past will again happen in the future. We see how Israel has fallen and rose again just like the Messiah. We see how the wheels keep turning in our Hebrew alphabet that corresponds from the chapter to chapter and also from scroll to scroll. Only the Word of G-d can do this and only He knows the future and His plans for His people, His nation, and His heavenly body. Again we see eyes -showing again He is omniscient.

Yechezk'el 1:22-25 Now over the heads of the living beings there was something like an expanse, like the awesome gleam of crystal, extended over their heads. And under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, one toward the other; each one also had two wings covering their bodies on the one side and on the other. I also heard the sound of their wings like the sound of abundant waters as they went, like the voice of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army camp; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings. And there came a voice from above the expanse that was over their heads; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings.

In Revelation we see before the throne of G-d is a "sea of glass like crystal" - In the temple the Brazen Laver was used for cleansing before entering the temple. The crystal sea symbolizes the day when we will never need to confess our sins again. Why? Because we will be sinless!

Revelation 4:5-6 and from the throne proceed flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of G-d; and before the throne there was, as it were, a sea of glass like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind.

The sound of abundant waters - This is the sound of the voice of G-d.

Yechezk'el 1:26 Now above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne, like a sapphire in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man.

Who is above the angels in heaven that the mercy seat on earth illustrates? Yeshua HaMashiach, the son of man. The Son of man is also mentioned as in the clouds in Daniel.

Daniel 7:13 "I kept looking in the night visions, And look, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him. "And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and men of every language might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed. NAS

Yechezk'el 1:27 Then I noticed from the appearance of His loins and upward something like GLOWING METAL that looked like fire all around within it, and from the appearance of His loins and downward I saw something like fire; and there was a radiance around Him.

We see this further illustrated in Rev. 1.

Revelation 1:5-15 To Him who loves us, and released us from our sins by His blood, and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His G-d and Father; to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. Look, He is coming with the CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so. Amen. ..."I am the Alpha and the Tahv," says the L-rd G-d, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." And I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven golden menorahs (lampstands); and in the middle of the menorahs (lampstands) one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His breast with a GOLDEN GIRDLE. And His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire; and His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been caused to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.

The Golden girdle across His breast symbolizes His righteousness and Faithfulness.

Yechezk'el 1:28 As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the L-RD. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.

Revelation 4:3 And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.

The rainbow around the throne tells us that there shall be mercy in the midst of judgment. The complete circle of the rainbow symbolizes the sovereignty of G-d through the Son of man. Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) another "type" will be called the son of man. This awesome picture of the throne of heaven mentioned in His Word does make you want to get down on your knees. Great Is His glory!
