Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) Chapter 20 (Continued)

Yechezk'el 20:15-26 "And also I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands, because they rejected My ordinances, and as for My statutes, they did not walk in them; they even profaned My sabbaths, for their heart continually went after their idols. "Yet My eye spared them rather than destroying them, and I did not cause their annihilation in the wilderness. "And I said to their children in the wilderness, 'Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, or keep their ordinances, or defile yourselves with their idols. 'I am the L-RD your G-d; walk in My statutes, and keep My ordinances, and observe them. 'And sanctify My sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the L-RD your G-d.' "But the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes, nor were they careful to observe My ordinances, by which, if a man observes them, he will live; they profaned My sabbaths. So I resolved to pour out My wrath on them, to accomplish My anger against them in the wilderness. "But I withdrew My hand and acted for the sake of My name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out. "Also I swore to them in the wilderness that I would scatter them among the nations and disperse them among the lands, because they had not observed My ordinances, but had rejected My statutes, and had profaned My sabbaths, and their eyes were on the idols of their fathers. "And I also gave them statutes that were not good and ordinances by which they could not live; and I pronounced them unclean because of their gifts, in that they caused all their first-born to pass through the fire so that I might make them desolate, in order that they might know that I am the L-RD. "'

Some had offered their own flesh as a sacrifice to Baal. The false prophets who declares to the people and future generation that the mercy of the Father through the son as evil and false are leading their sons and daughters to one day pass through an eternal fire.

Yechezk'el 20:27-32 "Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and say to them, 'Thus says the L-rd G-D," Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed Me by acting treacherously against Me. "When I had brought them into the land which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill and every leafy tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering. There also they made their soothing aroma, and there they poured out their libations. "Then I said to them, 'What is the high place to which you go?' So its name is called Bamah to this day."' "Therefore, say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the L-rd G-D," Will you defile yourselves after the manner of your fathers and play the harlot after their detestable things? "And when you offer your gifts, when you cause your sons to pass through the fire, you are defiling yourselves with all your idols to this day. And shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live," declares the L-rd G-D, "I will not be inquired of by you. "And what comes into your mind will not come about, when you say: 'We will be like the nations, like the tribes of the lands, serving wood and stone.'

The L-rd G-d is a jealous G-d and does not share his glory with anyone.

Yechezk'el 20:33-35 "As I live," declares the L-rd G-D, "surely with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with wrath poured out, I shall be king over you. "And I shall bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands where you are scattered, with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with wrath poured out; and I shall bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I shall enter into judgment with you FACE to FACE.

Other lands scattered are considered the wilderness of suffering. Partially fulfilled when coming from Babylon but total fulfillment yet future.

Yechezk'el 20:36-37 "As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you," declares the L-rd G-D. "And I shall make you pass under the rod, and I shall bring you into the bond of the covenant;

Under the rod - This is judgment. He is the good shepherd and uses a rod-sometimes for judgment and sometimes for our benefit. He chastises those whom He loves like a Father would chastise a son out of love. In the case of the execution stake, the Father used the rod for both - it was our judgment on the Son for all our wrong and all for our benefit.

Yechezk'el 20:38-39 and I shall purge from you the rebels and those who transgress against Me; I shall bring them out of the land where they sojourn, but they will not enter the land of Israel. Thus you will know that I am the L-RD. "As for you, O house of Israel," thus says the L-rd G-D, "Go, serve everyone his idols; but later, you will surely listen to Me, and My holy name you will profane no longer with your gifts and with your idols.

If you use a system for something it was never meant by HaShem to be used for: say trying to use the Mosaic system as a way to eternal life when our old nature is incapable of being perfect without us first receiving our new nature from the Father through the Son. Sometimes HaShem gives us what our hearts desire to teach us something. We then are still sinners and far from being perfect; however, that is our goal. Even then it is not ourselves who receives the glory for our eternal state. The eternal taking away from sin is glory given only to the Father and the Son. Don't make yourself to be your own god and rely on your own righteousness for eternal salvation. Don't disregard the Son or His name for eternal life. The L-rd G-d is a jealous G-d and does not share His glory with anyone. What was the purpose of the Mosaic system? The same thing that one rule told Adam and Eve about us. We are all sinners and fall short. What was the purpose of the temple treasures and what do they represent? They tell us we are sinners and temporary redemption and the covering of our sin can come through the blood of animals. Wouldn't HaShem be angry at those that look to a system to declare the goodness of there own actions instead of admitting their sin and hoping and trusting HaShem will accept the blood of an animal for the covering of their sin. It tells us we need the blood of the Son accepted by the Father as atonement for our sins for eternity. He presented Himself to the Father above in the Tabernacle above. The same Tabernacle the one on earth was drafted from. The Levitical priesthood will be used again during the time of Ya'akov's trouble but the people hearts and the leaders still do not come to the leading of the spirit and realize what the temple and the treasures are to point us to. How sad. Sometimes HaShem gives us what our hearts desires to teach us something. May we come to the realization to what is right in the eyes of HaShem and not in the eyes of man through the help of Ruach HaKodesh.

Yechezk'el 20:40-41 "For on My holy mountain, on the high mountain of Israel," declares the L-rd G-D, "there the whole house of Israel, all of them, will serve Me in the land; there I shall accept them, and there I shall seek your contributions and the choicest of your gifts, with all your holy things. "As a soothing aroma I shall accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands where you are scattered; and I shall prove Myself holy among you in the sight of the nations.

The L-rd unlike us always keeps His word and His promises.

Yechezk'el 20:42-44 "And you will know that I am the L-RD, when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the land which I swore to give to your forefathers. "And there you will remember your ways and all your deeds, with which you have defiled yourselves; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for all the evil things that you have done. "Then you will know that I am the L-RD when I have dealt with you for My name's sake, not according to your evil ways or according to your corrupt deeds, O house of Israel," declares the L-rd G-D.' "

The following 5 verses are found at the beginning of the chapter 21 in the Tanakh.

Yechezk'el 20:45-49 Now the word of the L-RD came to me saying, "Son of man, set your face toward Teman, and speak out against the south, and prophesy against the forest land of the Negev, and say to the forest of the Negev,' Hear the word of the L-RD: thus says the L-rd G-D, "Look, I am about to kindle a fire in you, and it shall consume every green tree in you, as well as every dry tree; the blazing flame will not be quenched, and the whole surface from south to north will be burned by it. "And all flesh will see that I, the L-RD, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched."' " Then I said, "Ah L-rd G-D! They are saying of me, 'Is he not just speaking parables?'"

The nation did not turn from their ways. Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) told them what the Word of the L-rd told them and it came to pass. In the future, the whole world will come to judgment from fire from the L-rd G-d because of how they treat Israel. Israel will have risen and have become great again only to fall again. Don't you become ashamed because you did not, as an individual, see what the Mosaic system tells us? The wages of sin is death but the gift of G-d is eternal life through Yeshua HaMashiach. Trust in this truth. We know as a nation, Israel will again not listen and will come under the rod. (The time of Ya'akov's trouble) They will wait until they see Him face to face and only then will the nation believe. (Zech. 14) Blessed are those who did not see Him and yet still believe.

Pray for the nation, the apple of His eye.
