Yechezk'el 23:36-39 Moreover, the L-RD said to me, "Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominations. "For they have committed adultery, and blood is on their hands. Thus they have committed adultery with their idols and even caused their sons, whom they bore to Me, to pass through the fire to them as food. "Again, they have done this to Me: they have defiled My sanctuary on the same day and have profaned My sabbaths. "For when they had slaughtered their children for their idols, they entered My sanctuary on the same day to profane it; and lo, thus they did within My house.
Pass through the fire - This refers to human sacrifice. They were offering their children to idols and going to the Temple of G-d the same day profaning the Sabbath. You say this is terrible. Many "so called" followers of the L-rd attend an infant baptism in the morning and then get drunk at the celebration party later the same day. Is this any different? These are adults trying to lead their children to salvation through a different gospel and by their examples. They are teaching another gospel leading to eternal slaughter and eternal fire. Sprinkling a little water on a child does not do anything for a child especially in regard to salvation. Yet some believe such nonsense to the detriment of the child. If the child grows up trusting in that nonsense they will be lost. If a child dies before the age of accountability He will still go to the other world. He belongs to the L-rd regardless if one sprinkles water on his head. False little rituals like this do nothing to please the L-rd. They are only a slap in the face to what He has already done for us. When Yeshua was on the execution stake he cried out "Tetélestai" - meaning the debt is "paid in full." The good news is that eternal life is a free gift and it is not earned or deserved. There is nothing else for us to do to gain favor in the Father's eyes when it comes to our eternal destination. This was Yeshua's appointed divine mission. To sprinkle water on anyone for this salvation is to say that what He did was not enough. Is this what we are to believe? This contradicts the Word of G-d. I realize that many do this out of ignorance but ignorance is no excuse to those that are responsible for teaching truth. If someone gives you a gift, would you try to pay them back a quarter for it. No that would be an insult to that person. We only have to Admit our sin, Believe that the blood of His Son takes our sin away, and Confess this to the Father. We must be old enough to understand this first. Does a baby have this understanding? The children belong to Him anyway. Man, in his pride, always thinks there is something he or she can do to earn their way from eternal fire. It is only the blood...trusting in the blood.... Only the blood of the son of man, the lamb of G-d is our Salvation. The animal sacrifice was the type and life was in the blood. This pointed us to the offering of the lamb of G-d for eternal life. Don't add to the Word and insult the power of the blood.
Galatians 1:6-10 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the mercy of Messiah, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you, and want to distort the gospel of Messiah. But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Messiah.
Ephesians 2:8-9 We are saved by mercy through faith, it is a GIFT of G-d, not of ourselves; least any man should boast.
Yechezk'el 23:40-42 "Furthermore, they have even sent for men who come from afar, to whom a messenger was sent; and lo, they came-- for whom you bathed, painted your eyes, and decorated yourselves with ornaments; and you sat on a splendid couch with a table arranged before it, on which you had set My incense and My oil. "And the sound of a carefree multitude was with her; and drunkards were brought from the wilderness with men of the common sort. And they put bracelets on the hands of the women and beautiful crowns on their heads.
Painted your eyes - to make oneself more alluring. Given crowns and bracelets for certain festivals. Today we have many bracelets for many kinds of things and many kinds of causes that also are derived from sin.
Yechezk'el 23:43-45 "Then I said concerning her who was worn out by adulteries, 'Will they now commit adultery with her when she is thus?' "But they went in to her as they would go in to a harlot. Thus they went in to Oholah and to Oholibah, the lewd women. "But they, righteous men, will judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, and with the judgment of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses and blood is on their hands.
A remnant would affirm the judgment of the L-rd. He is just and punishes sin.
Yechezk'el 23:46-49 "For thus says the L-rd G-D, 'Bring up a company against them, and give them over to terror and plunder. 'And the company will stone them with stones and cut them down with their swords; they will slay their sons and their daughters and burn their houses with fire. 'Thus I shall make lewdness cease from the land, that all women may be admonished and not commit lewdness as you have done. 'And your lewdness will be requited upon you, and you will bear the penalty of worshiping your idols; thus you will know that I am the L-rd G-D.' "
