Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) Chapter 24 (Continued)

Yechezk'el 24:14-23 "I, the L-RD, have spoken; it is coming and I shall act. I shall not relent, and I shall not pity, and I shall not be sorry; according to your ways and according to your deeds I shall judge you," declares the L-rd G-D.' "

And the word of the L-RD came to me saying, "Son of man, look, I am about to take from you the desire of your eyes with a blow; but you shall not mourn, and you shall not weep, and your tears shall not come. "Groan silently; make no mourning for the dead. Bind on your turban, and put your shoes on your feet, and do not cover your mustache, and do not eat the bread of men." So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. And in the morning I did as I was commanded. And the people said to me, "Will you not tell us what these things that you are doing mean for us?" Then I said to them, "The word of the L-RD came to me saying, 'Speak to the house of Israel, "Thus says the L-rd G-D, Look, I am about to profane My sanctuary (House of HaShem), the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and the delight of your soul; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword. 'And you will do as I have done; you will not cover your mustache, and you will not eat the bread of men. 'And your turbans will be on your heads and your shoes on your feet. You will not mourn, and you will not weep; but you will rot away in your iniquities, and you will groan to one another.

Israel was the wife and apple of the L-rd's eye. Israel was of good stock but had become filthy in deeds. Ezekiel begins to perform another sign for Israel. Ezekiel's wife dies and he is not able to mourn his loss. The L-rd's wife (Israel) becomes dead to the L-rd and judgment from Babylon comes.

We also were considered dead in our trespasses and sin but are now alive in Messiah.

Ephesians 2:1-7 and you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But G-d, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Messiah (by mercy you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Yeshua HaMashiach, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Yeshua HaMashiach.

Yerushalayim falls and there is also rejoicing by others. We should never rejoice over the misfortune of others. This is not love and judgment may fall on you. Judgment does come on Israel; however, the type will rise again also. Ezekiel becomes a sign to Israel. This is a common thing if you know the Word. All of the actions of Israel and characters in the Torah are a sign to us to point to the Son of man -Yeshua. Surely you know.

Yechezk'el 24:24'Thus Ezekiel will be a sign to you; according to all that he has done you will do; when it comes, then you will know that I am the L-rd G-D.' "

Can you imagine losing a loved one so the L-rd could use it as a sign to Israel? The L-rd is in control over every aspect of our lives. This is called Divine Providence. There is nothing in your life that happens the He is not sovereign over. He is in total control. Do you think your responsible for your lot in life? Nothing happens in you life unless He allows it, whether good or evil. Just ask Iyov (Job). The question sometimes may be: how are you going to react to the situation? Will you become bitter toward HaShem? Ezekiel didn't become bitter over his wife dying. He accepted his lot. He knew it was her time and it happened for reason. No matter what suffering we face we have a promise of G-d that He will make it "all" work out for the good!

Romans 8:28 And we know that G-d causes all things to work together for good to those who love G-d, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Can you imagine being told you cannot mourn for a lost love one?

What was the purpose here? If we continue to look at this sign we realize that HaShem would not mourn for Israel. It points us to the fact that Israel is again the type. He would lose His "only" Son and would not mourn either. On the contrary, it would please Him to bruise Yeshua but not for His wrong but for ours.

Yesha'yahu (Isaiah) 53:7-10 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth. For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken. He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the L-RD's will to crush Him and cause Him to suffer, and though the L-RD makes His life a guilt offering.

Yechezk'el 24:25-27 'As for you, son of man, will it not be on the day when I take from them their stronghold, the joy of their pride, the desire of their eyes, and their heart's delight, their sons and their daughters, that on that day he who escapes will come to you with information for your ears? 'On that day your mouth will be opened to him who escaped, and you will speak and be dumb no longer. Thus you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the L-RD.' "

In the future, Yeshua will protect Israel from Gog and Magog and all will know that the L-rd has done it.
