Matthew Chapter 15 (Continued)

Matt 15:21-22 Then Yeshua (Jesus) went then, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried to him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, the Son of David; my daughter is seriously demon-possessed.

Messianic title: Son of David; One of many of His titles.

This woman depends on the Messiah.

Matt 15:23-27 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, Send her away; for she cries after us. But He answered and said, I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then she came and worshipped Him, saying, L-rd, help me. But He answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, L-rd: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs, which fall from their masters' table.

She came and worshipped Him - This gentile woman realized who He was and worshipped Him. Notice Yeshua did not rebuke her worshipping Him. He is G-d and is deserving of worship.

The woman opposes the L-rd’s saying with her own. The L-rd however was not unworthy by missing His mission to her, He was just testing her faith. For this is what G-d does to those of His creation. Most characters have some flaw because we all have faults but Yeshua is an exception.

Matt 15:28 Then Yeshua (Jesus) answered and said to her, O woman, great is your faith: be it to you as you will. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Because of the faith of this gentile woman, Yeshua healed her daughter of demon possession.

Matt 15:29-31 And Yeshua (Jesus) departed from there, and came to the Sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there. And great multitudes came to Him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Yeshua’s (Jesus') feet; and He healed them: Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the G-d of Israel.

Again many depending on the L-rd for help.

Matt 15:32-38 Then Yeshua (Jesus) called His disciples to Him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, or they may faint on the way. And His disciples said to Him, Where could we get so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude? And Yeshua (Jesus) said to them, How many loaves have you? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and broke them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.

He provides.

This is a different miracle than the feeding of the 5,000. It is amazing that His disciples didn’t ask “Hey, are you going to feed this group of people like you fed that other group?” I suppose we all are guilty of this, we see G-d provide for us in one situation, but doubt that he will provide for us in the next.

Matt 15:39 And He sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.

This is the hometown of Mary Magdalene. Her last name was not Magdalene. She was Miryam from Magdala.
