Need for a Mashiach (Messiah / Annointed)
The story of original sin is recorded in Genesis 3:
Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the L-RD G-d had made. And he said to the woman, Indeed, Has G-d said, You will not eat of every tree from the garden? And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, G-d has said, You will not eat of it, neither will you touch it, otherwise you die. And the serpent said to the woman, You will not surely die: For G-d knows that in the day you eat, then your eyes will be opened, and you will be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit there, and ate, and gave also to her husband with her; and he ate. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the L-RD G-d (The WORD) walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the L-RD G-d among the trees of the garden. And the L-RD G-d called to Adam, and said to him, Where are you? And he said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree, where I commanded you that you shouldn't eat? And the man said, The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate. And the L-RD G-d said to the woman, what is this that you have done? And the woman said, the serpent deceived me, and I ate. And the L-RD G-d said to the serpent, Because you have done this, you are cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; on your belly you will go, and dust you will eat all the days of your life: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel. To the woman he said, I will greatly multiply your pain and your conception; in pain you will bring forth children; and your desire will be to your husband, and he will rule over you. And to Adam he said, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, you will not eat of it: cursed is the ground for your sake; in pain will you eat of it all the days of your life; Thorns also and thistles will it bring to you; and you will eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of your face will you eat bread, until you return to the ground; for out of it were you taken: for dust you are, and to dust you will return. And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. To Adam also and to his wife did the L-RD G-d make coats of skins, and clothed them. And the L-RD G-d said,Look, the man is become like one of us, to know good and evil: and now, otherwise he put his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever: Therefore the L-RD G-d sent him away from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from where he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim's, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
G-d placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden commanding them not to eat from the "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil". Adam and Eve fell for the serpent's lies and ate the forbidden fruit. Up until this time they evidently enjoyed a personal relationship with the L-rd G-d, whenever he visited with them in the Garden of Eden. After, they sinned the relationship was broken. Because G-d cannot be in the presence of sin, the evening visits ended.
It isn't spelled out here but obviously an animal or animals must have been slain to provide the animal skins garments. This would have been the first time blood would have been shed to make atonement for their sins.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the alter to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement. Leviticus 17:11.
The animal's blood did not remove their sins it only covered their sins. Down through the centuries they had to repeat their animal sacrifices to continue to cover their sins. Looking forward to the day when their sins would be washed away once and for all.
