Revelation Chapter 13 Continued

Revelation 13:7-8 "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." (KJV)

He increases the persecution of the Saints "Tribulation Believers". He is given the power to overcome them. Also he is given power over all peoples of the earth. G-d allows this to happen, Satan can do nothing with out G-d's allowing it.

Again we see that all the people in the world will worship the Anti-Messiah with the exception of the true believers in Y'shua.

Only true believers, those who have accepted Y'shua death on the cross as atonement for their sins and have placed their faith and trust in Him, will have their names written in the "Book of Life". This is the book you want to have your name written in. If you are not sure if you name is written there and want to be sure you can e-mail us for more details.

Revelation 13:9-10 "If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints." (KJV)

E.W. Bullinger explains verse 10 on page 430 of his commentary.

The Greek text of this verse is very confused and there are many various readings. But the sense is perfectly clear. The Hebrew idiom was not understood by the Greek transcribers and they tried to correct it. It is a Hebraism expressing destiny, and denoting a certainty of approaching judgment, from whichever side it comes.

This type of expression is used in:

Jeremiah 43:11 "And when he cometh, he shall smite the land of Egypt, and deliver such as are for death to death; and such as are for captivity to captivity; and such as are for the sword to the sword." (KJV)

Jeremiah 15:2 "And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? Then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the L-RD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity." (KJV)

Ezekiel 5:2 "Thou shalt burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled: and thou shalt take a third part, and smite about it with a knife: and a third part thou shalt scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them." (KJV)

Ezekiel 5:12 "A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them." (KJV)

Zechariah 11:9 "Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another." (KJV)

From these passages it is abundantly clear that Rev 13:10 means that so sure and certain will these judgments be which the Beast executes, that none will escape them.

Verse 9 is telling us to pay attention and heed the message, before it is too late.
