There is the view that this passage is talking about war. I don't buy that. War has happened. And these things are controlled by demons. They look like man and have hair like a woman. I don't know what demons looks like. (Aliens, man or diff. Images)
This could be just spiritual or demons. This seems to be true especially when we look at the meaning of Ch. 9 in the Hebrew. "Serpent."
Some take the first part of nine to be different than the second part. I think they sound very similar and should be looked on as similar in meaning. Their similarities stick out.
And some take this as not only demonic but also literally at the same time. LET"S LOOK TO THE TANAKH. In the Tanakh there is a description of a " Dinosaur " mentioned in Job.
The Bible did not say "Dinosaur", the name was not invented until 1840 by Richard Owen. (Dinosaurs: Those Terrible lizards, Duane Gish Ph. D)
I am including the verses from Job also to note the similarities to Rev 9.
Job 41:27-32 "He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary." (KJV)
Job 40:15-41:22 "Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth "Grass" (AHH! He ate grass!) as an ox. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his "TAIL" like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of "IRON". He is the chief of the ways of G-d: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him. Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. He lieth under the shady "TREES", in the covert of the reed, and fens. The shady "TREE" (LOOK! HE LIKES TREES) cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook (MAYBE ANY GREEN THING!) compass him about. Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares. Canst thou draw out leviathan (SEA SERPENT) with a hook? Or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? Will he make many supplications unto thee? Will he speak soft words unto thee? Will he make a covenant with thee? Wilt thou take him for a servant forever? (Does G-d use him for His purpose?) Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?(He has power to stop Him from attacking His own) Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants? (Will he be unleashed against the nations?) Canst thou fill his skin with barbed "IRON"? or his head with fish spears? Lay thine hand upon him, remember the "Battle", do no more. Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me? Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? Who can open the doors of his face? his "TEETH" are terrible round about. His "SCALES" are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. One is so near to another that no air can come between them. They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. By his SNEEZINGS a LIGHT doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning "LAMPS", and sparks of "FIRE" leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth "SMOKE", as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a "FLAME" goeth out of his mouth. In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him." (He actually breathed fire. This is not poetry or allegory.) I thought dragons where mythical? Not according to His word."
Just because we haven't seen it does that meant that is never existed?
What about other strange creatures?
Let's take a look at the "Bombardier Beetle" that lives today. It shoots hot gases at it's enemy (toads). It is a known fact. How do they do that? They have containers with Hydrogen-Peroxide and Hydro quinone. "Quinone" is the irritating chemical. This beetle can add an inhibitor that prevents this chemical reaction. So it sits clear inside the beetle. This is a very complicated process, yet it is done inside a creation of G-d. Some dinosaurs have hollow terminals in there skulls that scientists have not been able to figure out what they where used for. Could this be for breathing fire? Interesting? When we take the Bible seriously and take our "Sciences" we come to very interesting ideas. G-d's creations are amazing. With G-d all things are possible. In his word comes wisdom and understanding.
Dennis Peterson states, "If it weren't for the fact that fireflies were so commonplace, we would tend to be skeptical about living, flying light bulbs. Little beetles shooting explosions at their enemies also seems incredible. And the idea of a creature actually producing an electric shock, as does the eel, would indeed be unbelievable if it weren't a proven fact A fire-breathing dinosaur is entirely within the realm of biological possibility. (The Mysteries of Creation, Dennis Peterson, Pg. 145)
Now lets look at Rev. 9:
Rev 9:4-9 "And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the "GRASS" of the earth,(They must have eaten Grass, but are told not to) neither any green thing(COULD THIS BE A WILLOW?), neither any TREE (HE MUST LIKE TREES (THIS IS IMPORTANT)); but only those men which have not the seal of G-d in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. And the shapes of the locusts(Scales) were like unto horses prepared unto "BATTLE"; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of "IRON";" (KJV)
Rev 9:17-20 "And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued "FIRE" and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the "SMOKE", and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. For their power is in their mouth, and in their "TAILS": for their TAILS were like unto SERPENTS, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. (Sounds like a Stegosaurus) And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:" (KJV)
These are just some thoughts. If you don't believe it, that is understandable. And we are not saying this for sure. Has anyone seen Jurassic Park? Never happen, right?
Look at what's happened in the last few years. Who would have thought that man would have made a cloned sheep. Cloning has opened what could be a whole new understanding when it comes to what man can make. They now say they can even clone a man. What if they came across the DNA of a Dinosaur? Think if you dare of the possibilities that immoral man can cause. They are now crossing different animal genes with other animals and even other human genes. Think of finding a dinosaurs DNA and cloning a dinosaur or dragon. They also have a head like a "HORSE" with teeth like a "LION." And also maybe the dinosaurs are possessed by demons like the swine where possessed by the legions of demons in Luke 5 or like a snake in the garden.
Next there is also a Menorah of Seven Thunders, which are not explained.
Why is this? Are they too terrible?
How man has warped what G-d has created.
Deut 32:22-29 "For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the TEETH of BEASTS upon them, with the poison of SERPENTS of the dust. The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs. I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men: Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the L-RD hath not done all this. For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!" (KJV)
Lev 26:21-22 "And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues (SEVEN THUNDERS) upon you according to your sins.I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your highways shall be desolate." (KJV)
But to those are His own He protects them:
Job 5:19-23 "He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword. Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee." (KJV)
Perhaps they are not cloned but just reserved by G-d for a specific "year
month and a day"
