Was Yeshua the Son of G-d? Was He Himself G-d? What do the scriptures say? Did Yeshua exist before His birth in Bethlehem?

In the words of Yochanan the Immerser.

John 1:15 - John gave witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spoke, He that comes after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

Yochanan the Emissary said

John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with G-d, and the Word was G-d.

1 John 1:2 - (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show to you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;)

Sha'ul the Emissary said

Philippians 2:6-8 -Who, being in the form of G-d

Kefa the Emissary said

1 Peter 1:20 - Who truly was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Yeshua Himself said

John 6:38 - For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

John 8:58 - Jesus (Yeshua) said to them, Truly, Truly, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am.

John 17:5 - And now, O Father, glorify me yourself with your glory, which I had with you before the world was.

In this verse Yeshua is asking G-d the Father to share His glory with Him. In Isaiah we learn that G-d will not share His glory. So Yeshua must have believed Himself to be G-d.

Isaiah 42:8 - I am the L-RD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

What did Yeshua do prior to his Bethlehem appearance?

He created the universe.

John 1:3 - All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Colossians 1:16 - For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Hebrews 1:2 - In these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Hebrews 1:10 - And, You, L-rd, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands:

He was upholding the universe.

Hebrews 1:3 - Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Colossians 1:17 - And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

He was with the Father

John 17:23 - I in them, and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and has loved them, as you have loved me.

John 17:24 - Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am; that they may look on my glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the world.

Pre-Bethlehem appearances of Yeshua

He visited with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden

Genesis 3:8 - And they heard the voice of the L-RD G-d walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the L-RD G-d amongst the trees of the garden.

He is the Angel of the L-rd

When Jacob (Israel) was near death he called on the Angel of the L-rd who has redeemed me to bless his sons. No Angel has the ability to redeem anyone; therefore he must have been speaking of the Messiah.

He was also describe as the angel of the L-rd in Zach 8 and was no ordinary angel.

Genesis 48:16 - The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude on the earth.

He appeared to Hagar

Genesis 16:7-14 - And the angel of the L-RD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. And he said, Hagar, maidSarai's , where did you come from? and where will you go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. And the angel of the L-RD said to her, Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hands. And the angel of the L-RD said to her, I will multiply your seed exceedingly, that it will not be numbered for multitude. And the angel of the L-RD said to her, Behold, you are with child, and will bear a son, and will call his name Ishmael; because the L-RD has heard your affliction. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he will reside in the presence of all his brothers. And she called the name of the L-RD that spoke to her, You G-d saw me: for she said, Have I also looked after him that seen me? Wherefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.

He appeared to Abraham

Genesis 18:1 - And the L-RD appeared to him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

Genesis 22:11-13 - And the angel of the L-RD called to him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not your hand on the lad, neither do anything to him: for now I know that you fear G-d, seeing you have not held back your son, your only son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and look behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

He appeared to Jacob

Genesis 28:13 - And, Look, the L-RD stood above it, and said, I am the L-RD G-d of Abraham your father, and the G-d of Isaac: the land where you lie on, I will give itto you , and to your seed;

Genesis 32:24-32 - And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaks. And he said, I will not let you go, except you bless me. And he said to him, what is your name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Your name will be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince has power with G-d and with men, and has prevailed. And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray your name. And he said, Why do you ask after my name? And he blessed him there. And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen G-d face to face, and my life is preserved. And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose on him,and he limped on his thigh. Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew of the hip, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, to this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew of the hip.

He appeared to Moses

Exodus 3:2 - And the angel of the L-RD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and,look, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

Exodus 23:20 - Look, I send an Angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place, which I have prepared.

Ex 33:18-23 And he said, I beg thee, show me your glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the L-RD before you; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. And he said, You can not see my face: for no man will see me, and live. And the L-RD said, Look, there is a place by me, and you will stand on a rock: And it will come to pass, while my glory passes by, that I will put you in a clift of the rock, and will cover you with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away my hand, and You will see my back parts: but my face you will not see..

He appeared to Joshua

Joshua 5:13-15 - And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, No; but as captain of the host of the L-RD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said to him, What did my L-rd say to his servant? And the captain of the L-RD's host said to Joshua, Take off your shoe from off your foot; for the place you stand is holy. And Joshua did so.

He appeared to Gideon

Judges 6:11-24 - And there came the angel of the L-RD, and sat under an oak, which was in Ophrah, that pertained to Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites. And the angel of the L-RD appeared to him, and said to him, The L-RD is with you, You mighty man of valor. And Gideon said to him, Oh my L-rd, if the L-RD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the L-RD bring us up from Egypt? but now the L-RD has forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. And the L-RD looked on him, and said, Go in your might, and you will save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent you? And he said to him, Oh my L-rd, where will I save Israel? Look, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house. And the L-RD said to him, Surely I will be with you, and you will smite the Midianites as one man. And he said to him, If now I have found mercy in your sight, then show me a sign that you talk with me. Don't leave, I pray , until I come to you, and bring forth my present, and set it before you. And he said, I will tarry until you come again. And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out to him under the oak, and presented it. And the angel of G-d said to him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so. Then the angel of the L-RD put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the L-RD departed out of his sight. And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the L-RD, Gideon said, Ah, O L-rd G-D! for because I have seen an angel of the L-RD face to face. And the L-RD said to him, Peace be to you; fear not: You will not die. Then Gideon built an altar there to the L-RD, and called it Jehovah-shalom: to this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abi-ezrites.

He appeared to Samson's parents

Judges 13 - And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the L-RD; and the L-RD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years. And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren,... the angel of the L-rd appeared to the woman, and said to her, Look now, you are barren,..but you will concieve and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray , and drink not wine or strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, you will concieve and bear a son; and no rasor will come on his head:for the child will be a Nazarite to G-d from the womb: and he will begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of G-d came to me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of G-d, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name: But he said to me, Look you will concieve and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child will be a Nazarite to G-d from the womb to the day of his death. Then Manoah intreated the L-RD, and said, O my L-rd, let the man of G-d which you did send come again to us, and teach us what we will do to the child that will be born. And G-d hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of G-d came again to the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband was not with her. And the woman quickly ran, and showed her husband, and said to him, Look, the man has appeared to me, that came to me the other day. And Manoah rose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, Are you the man that spoke to the woman? And he said, I am. And Manoah said, Now let your words come to pass. How will we order the child, and how will we do to him? And the angel of the L-RD said to Manoah, Of all that I said to the woman let her beware. She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe. And Manoah said to the angel of the L-RD, I pray, let us detain you, until we will have made ready a kid for you. And the angel of the L-RD said to Manoah, Though you detain me, I will not eat your bread: and if you offer a burnt offering, you must offer it unto the L-RD. For Manoah knew not that he was the angel of the L-RD. And Manoah said to the angel of the L-RD, What is your name, that when your sayings come to pass we may do you honor? And the angel of the L-RD said to him, Why do you ask for my name, seeing it is wonderful? So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it on a rock to the L-RD: and the angel did wonderfully; and Manoah and his wife looked on. For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar that the angel of the L-RD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. But the angel of the L-RD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the L-RD. And Manoah said to his wife, We will surely die, because we have seen G-d. But his wife said to him, If the L-RD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have showed us all these things, or would as at this time have told us such things as these. And the woman bore a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the L-RD blessed him. And the Spirit of the L-RD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Notice above the Angel of the L-rd's name is wonderful. Compare this with the Messianic Prophecy in Isaiah.

Isa 9:6 - For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government will be on his shoulder: and his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty G-d, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

The Angel of the L-rd is called wonderful and the Mighty G-d is called "wonderful". Therefore the Angel of the L-rd must be G-d Himself. Also, He is called, "The Everlasting Father", "The mighty G-d" and "A son". This verse shows us that G-d is "a son" (Yeshua). It also shows us he is the Everlasting Father.

He appeared to Isaiah

Isaiah 6 - In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the L-rd sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he did fly. And one cried to another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the L-RD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the people of unclean lips: for my eyes have seen the King, the L-RD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it on my mouth, and said, Lo, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the L-rd, saying, Whom will I send,and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear you indeed, but not understand ; and see you indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; unless they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and repent, and be healed. Then said I, L-rd, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, And the L-RD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the land. But yet in it will be a tenth, and it will return, and will be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed will be the substance there.

He appeared in the fiery furnace

Daniel 3:25 - He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they have no pain; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of G-d.

He appeared to Daniel

Daniel 7:9-14 - I looked until the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came from before him: thousand thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke: I looked even until the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. I saw in the night visions, and, look, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away, and his kingdom will not be destroyed.
