Zechariah Chapter 14 (Continue)

Zechariah 14:10 All the land will be changed into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but Jerusalem will rise and remain on its site from Benjamin's Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king's wine presses.

The City of Jerusalem will be exalted on a high hill, with the land around Jerusalem lowered to a plain. WE have rising after downfall relating to the letter “Nun”.

Zechariah 14:11 And people will live in it, and there will be no more curse, for Jerusalem will dwell in security.

No more terrorist bombings…Jerusalem will FOREVER be the city of Shalom when the Prince of Peace, the L-rd Yeshua HaMashiach, reigns.

Zechariah 14:12 Now this will be the plague with which the L-RD will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth.

This will happen at the battle of Armageddon when Yeshua returns. This is a pretty gruesome judgment.

Zechariah 14:13 And it will come about in that day that a great panic from the L-RD will fall on them; and they will seize one another's hand, and the hand of one will be lifted against the hand of another.

The enemy armies will turn against each other and fight each other.

This happened during the Tanakh period as well. (See Judges 7:22; 1 Sam 14:15-20; 2 Chr. 20:23)

Zechariah 14:14 And Judah also will fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered, gold and silver and garments in great abundance.

Israel will take the spoils of war from the surrounding nations.

Zechariah 14:15 So also like this plague, will be the plague on the horse, the mule, the camel, the donkey, and all the cattle that will be in those camps.

The plague will be extended to the animals used by the invading armies.

Some believe that the invading armies will be using modern military equipment when invading Israel. They believe that the following passage referring to the horses bridle is not literal.

Revelation 14:20 “And the wine press was trodden outside the city, and blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses' bridles, for a distance of two hundred miles.”

Well, there may be modern military equipment, used but it looks like there will definitely be a cavalry of sorts too.

Zechariah 14:16 Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the L-RD of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths.

The Goyim (Gentiles Nations) will be required to go to Jerusalem to worship Yeshua. Now, some do not believe that the Messiah will be G-d. Here the Messiah is receiving worship. ONLY G-D is to be worshipped.

They will celebrate the “Feast of Tabernacles” which commemorates the L-rd dwelling with His people in the wilderness. Now He will again be dwelling with them and reigning from His throne in Jerusalem.

Zechariah 14:17-19 And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the L-RD of hosts, there will be no rain on them. And if the family of Egypt does not go up or enter, then no rain will fall on them; it will be the plague with which the L-RD smites the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths. This will be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.

There are always consequences for not obeying G-d. Here we see that G-d will withhold rain from those who do not acknowledge His reign. :~)

Zechariah 14:20-21 In that day there will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, "HOLY TO THE L-RD." And the cooking pots in the L-rd's house will be like the bowls before the altar. And every cooking pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be holy to the L-RD of hosts; and all who sacrifice will come and take of them and boil in them. And there will no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the L-RD of hosts in that day.

The High Priest wore a gold crown with the words inscribed “HOLY TO THE L-RD”. Here we see everything in Jerusalem will be set apart for the L-rd.

The Canaanite’s symbolize those who are spiritually and morally bankrupt. No morally or spiritually unclean persons will be allowed to enter the Millennial temple.
