ELECTRICAL POWER GENERATION FACTS

Stevens Point, WI Power Plant

* Net Head:

17

Feet (elevation)

Water Flow (through turbines):

4,442

Cubic Feet Per Second (CFS)

Electrical Generation:

4,800

*The Net Head is the difference in elevation between the water above the dam and the water below the dam.

The Net Head is often called the "Head". All things being equal, the higher the Net Head, the more power can be generated. Before the power of the river is harnessed, the river can be a source of destruction through flooding or drought. The floodgates are only opened during flood times or when there is more water available than the turbines need to generate power. Jesus (the Head) had to ascend into Glory before the power of the Spirit could be released. The Holy Spirit is the heavenly dynamo that harnesses the river of life to our benefit. When God opens the floodgates of heaven, it is the overflow from the river of life. All He has to do is open those floodgates and gravity will do the rest. If we are standing under that flow (walking in the Spirit), we will receive heavenly blessings. When the enemy comes in, like a flood, the Lord will raise up a standard against him. The flood brings the Glory down to us but destruction to the devourer.
