"ASKING FORGIVENESS"

SIN ~ We all fall short of God's grace at times. We are all sinners! Every morning begins a new day for each of us. The beginning of another day provides opportunity for new challenges. It is God's way of
opening a door for us to get a "fresh start," to make a new beginning, to have another chance. No matter what we think or feel, no matter what we have done or not done, no matter what we have been or not been ~ always, without exception ~ God offers His forgiveness.

REPENT ~ "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1John 1:9

FORGIVENESS ~ "Your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake." 1John 2:12

Jesus did inifinitely more for us than we deserved. He obeyed His heavenly Father perfectly to fulfill the law for us. He willingly accepted the death penalty on the cross for our sins. He provided for us forgiveness and eternal life.

REMOVED ~ "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us" Psalm 103:12

FORGOTTEN ~ "AND THEIR SINS AND INIQUITIES WILL I REMEMBER NO MORE."
Hebrews 10:17

In order to plow a straight line you have to look ahead. If you focus on a post or structure and head for it, you will make a straight furrow. If you look back to see where you have been, you are bound to
swerve, and there will be a bend in the row. We, as Christians, are called on to keep our eyes focused on the everlasting victory that Jesus won for us at Calvary. This is not an easy task! We are tempted to look back! Maybe we want to admire all we have done or see how bad our mistakes have been. Both are futile mistakes. We cannot change or undo the mistakes we have made. The Bible says that the Lord has forgotten them. If God will "remember our sins no more," we should put them behind us and focus on the future.

Heavenly Calculation:
SIN + REPENTENCE = FORGIVENESS
FORGIVENESS + REMOVAL = TOTALLY FORGOTTEN

WHAT AN AWESOME GOD WE HAVE! "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace." Ephesians 1:7

Application: The sinful world will constantly tempt us to forget God and go along with evil. God does not tempt us to do evil, but we are tempted of our own lusts. Stand firm and say "NO!" to what you know is wrong in your eyes. Walk in a straight and narrow path towards the "Light" of His Kingdom. Be pleasing to the Lord in all your endeavors. And when you have fallen short ~ ASK FORGIVENESS!

Today's Devotion: Remember, as Jesus hung on the cross, he said: "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." Luke 23:34

God Bless You All as you take your mistakes to the Lord, asking forgiveness, and receiving another chance to focus your eyes on landmarks of eternal life, which Jesus has won for us through the cross.
