Arthur James Mueller b. 28.7.1900 went to live in Swan Reach with his parents John and Annie, and brothers and sisters around 1914.
The family lived in a hut on section 106 in the hundred of Fisher between Silver Lea and Punyelroo for a time, and later moved into Swan Reach.
John Mueller laboured on various district farms including that of Charles Eglinton.
John's daughter Victoria & son Lindsay appear in the Swan Reach school photo of 1919.
An older son Frederick Mueller worked with a telegraph gang in the district.
Arthur Mueller a self taught motor mechanic was employed as Paul Zimmermann's first lorry driver. After some time he took employment as a blacksmiths striker for Garney Waye. Arthur then rented premises next to Wayes blacksmith shop in Victoria St, where he opened a motor repair shop. |
