This is a photograph of the now derelict shirt factory of Welch Margetson.

At the corner of Horace Street and Carlisle Road , stands the now derelict factory of Welch Margetson, a massive red brick building erected in 1872. It was designed by an architect by the name of J G Ferguson who also designed Tillie & Hendersons factory and was built by A. Mc Elwee of Derry. It closed circa 1991. It is currently being refurbished for use by the civil service for their pensions department.
