HIZ was formed with the intent to reach the younger generation for Christ.  All of the members of the band are firm believers in the power of God and believe that with his help they can reach the world.  Music is their passion  and they want nothing more than to share his blessings through the songs that they sing.

HIZ is a third generation of musicians.  The parents of each of the members as well as their grandparents were members of groups during years previous.  Although not of the same ensemble, their families have numerous albums between them.  As children HIZ began to explore their talents with various instruments each independent of his own choice.  Some years down the road they came together to play in a talent show sponsored by churches around the state.  Although it was meant only as a one time event and just for fun, following the performance the band was invited to perform at a youth group rally at one of the churches in attendance.  Neglecting the fact that they only had the one song they accepted the invitation.  During the weeks leading to the rally.  The band scurried to find a handful of songs to do for their performance.  The show was a hit and the youth of the church were fascinated at the fact that such young musicians could do such a thing.  "At that  moment we knew that God had a plan for us."  Stated Jonathan Halsey, lead singer.
