Lailatul Qadr

Lailatul qadr ! Do you know what is Lailatul Qadr?

Lailatul qadr is better than a thousands months ibadat for bashar

Keeping awake, praying and doing doa all night is better

Than sleeping  in ghaflat and missing the blessings, O’ bey khabar

All night the angels descend from heavan on Lailatul qadr

To write down the names of those who do doa and aaho buka nashar

And mark absence of those who are lazy and lethargic among all bashar

Their partial presence or total absence brings no benefit to them whatsoever

It is customary among Arabs to do ghunna in dark night’s  long safar

To lighten the pain, to pass the time, to anticipate coming of fajar

In reality, Lailatul Qadr is nothing but our own daor-us-satr

Daor-us-satr is when Imam is in parda and not in our nazar

Doat kiraam are the angels who descend in daor-us satr

To guide us in darkness so we don’t fall in zolmaat’s bahar

Our ibadat, noha, matam and nek amal are our ghunna in our life’s safar

To lighten the pain of not seeing the Imam, but being happy with Imam’s mazhar

Our misaq to Imam and doat is like the effort to keep awake till fajar

Shaitaan tries his best to make us fall asleep or stray from misaq-ul-anwar

A thousand months ibadat is less than ibadat in Lailatul Qadr

But similar to a thousand lives ibadat without misaq to Imam or Imam’s mazhar

Fifty two doat  have been our angels, they are all Imam’s mazhar

May our maola Burhanuddin live long and healthy till the end of dahar
