First of all, for those who wasn't there this is the result:
Red Army - Hammerheads 2:4 (1:0, 0:3, 1:1)
Scoring:
1st - none
2nd: 1. Matt, 2 (1:06, Roman, Jeff F); 2. Roman, 1 (4:48, Chris); 3.
Ralph, 1
(6:04, Chris)
3rd: 4. Matt, 3 sh (8:54, Jeff F)
Shots: 18 - 25, Tod (2-1)
Yes, we won second time in a row. This is the first 2-game winning streak in team's history. But the win was tough. We had only 9 players meaning we had two complete forward lines and 3 rotating defensmen.
Some stats and highlights:
1. Two goals for Matt, one of them is short-handed.
2. Two assists for Jeff F. Looks like personal point competition between Matt
and Jeff F. benefits our team a lot. Should we raise the stakes?
3. Chris got his first two points. And they came at the very good time. First
assist was on the tie breaking goal and we got the lead from there on. Second
assist was on the eventual game winning goal. Besides that, Chris was tremendous
on the faceoffs winning basically all of them.
4. Defense played very good again (if you don't count the Red Army's first
goal that went into the net from my stick; it was a bad deflection combined
with a bad luck). First of all, there were only 3 defensmen. Second, Ralph
and I had first goals of the season. Jeff B had a very solid game and probably
spent more minutes on the ice than anybody else. Third, we allowed 18 shots
on goal which, I believe, is not bad.
5. Tod was brilliant again. He made a number of great saves to preserve the
lead.
6. First time in team's history we are above 500: 2 wins and 1 loss. Let's
keep it that way.
