Competition Winners (3/3)

Anyone still remember that fan fiction competition we ran ages ago? Head on over to the Fan Centre writing section to find out who's won...

.

Gorillaz Go Pop! (14/2)

Gorillaz are to be the subject of a lecture at this year's Popular Culture Conference in New Orleans, LA. Entitled "The Digital Won't Let Me Go: Gorillaz and the Simulated Spectacle," the lecture will take place on Saturday, 19 April, sometime between 8.30 and 10.00 in the morning at the Jackson Hall. The lecture will be delivered by University of Calgary professor June Scudeler, and is part of a presentation entitled "Pop Music & its Permutations."

We will hope to bring you more information on this event in the near future. In the meantime, if you are interested in attending the Popular Culture Conference, you can register at www.popularculture.org.

.

Allbran C4 Special (8/2)

2D's popstar friend Damon Albarn is to be the subject of a Channel 4 special in the UK that will commence shooting in March. Fans.gorillaz.com has been contacted by the folks in charge, and they wanted us to pass along this message to any Gorillaz fans who might be interested in getting involved:

"I am interested to get in touch with some Gorillaz fans. Do they have any funny stories, what are their opinions on the creation of this band - Thoughts, comments etc - They could be involved in the filming of the show."

If you have stories or opinions (e.g. how Damon is getting a C4 special and the credit for Murdoc's band!), send an e-mail to katrina@somethin-else.com as soon as possible and you will be considered for inclusion!

.

Hail Santa! (24/12)

There's not been much to report over the last few weeks as Gorillaz have been hard at work learning the lines for their feature film and Murdoc's been kicking around ideas for world-beating-album #2, but fans.gorillaz.com wants to wish you a happy holiday season and thanks to all who voted in this year's Dotmusic People's Choice Awards, as we finished in the top 75 for the second consecutive year.

Hopefully there will be some new stuff on the site in 2003, so do keep your eyes peeled! Until then, Hail Santa!

.
