MY DREAM CAREER

People love asking children what they wanted to be when they grew up. Do you know what their response was when they asked me? Well, they first looked surprised... then they said "Oh! Really? That is a nice job. Haha" and they walked away... sigh...
What's wrong with it? Just because its salary is not that high and the prospect is not so good? Well, I don't care. I will never be affected by them! ;p

Indeed, at the age of five, I had already decided to be a teacher when I grew up. It was my dream! Maybe you think I am lying but I am really telling the truth. I was studying at kindergarten at that time. There I met an inspiring teacher, Miss Yeung Fung-yee (she is Miss Yeung, too! haha). She was such a caring person that even I was so young, I could feel her love and care deeply in my little heart. Her encouraging attitude had helped me build up my confidence (something that I seriously lacked! ;p ) , and she had then become my idol! I wanted to be a good teacher like her. I really did! To achieve this goal, I worked very hard. Now, THANKS GOD THAT I HAVE REALLY BECOME A TEACHER!!! :)

Many people think that teachers must be very smart and they must love studying very much. If not, how come they always scold their students and "force" them to work hard? You may think I am smart and I love studying, too because I AM also a teacher. haha Well, you are wrong... First, I am not smart. I always need to pay double effort to get what I want. Second, I did not enjoy my school life in both my primary and secondary school. This is not because the lessons were boring but some teachers' attitudes made me feel very disappointed... really terrible... However, now I have to thank them as I have learnt from them! By realizing what the problems are, I know what I should avoid when I become a teacher.

I think my negative(?) experience has helped me better understand what my students actually need and the problems they may face. Thanks God that I am not a very smart person so that it is also easier for me to understand their diffiuclties . I do believe that not every student can do well on his or her studies but I am sure all of them can contribute to our society one day. I do not care much about their academic results, especially if they have already tried their very best. Therefore, I always tell them, "IF YOU HAVE TRIED YOUR BEST, THERE IS NOTHING FOR YOU TO REGRET!" Do you agree?
Anyway, my dream has now come true. I am trying my best to be a good example for my students. I know I am quite strict and demanding, especially on their behavior... Yet, I really do not want them merely focus on their academic studies while neglecting many other valuable things that they can learn in school like how to respect and cooperate with each other. They may not be happy now and they even may not be able to understand my intention. Yet, I really believe that they will understand me one day. Do you think they will? :>
