Pargman:’ the mind is responsible for cause stress, which in turn interferes with normal bodily functions and sets the stage for possible impairment

- stress caused from social facilitation and

- social evaluation may contribute to athletic injury occurrence

 

­- stress causes physiological reaction (e.g, narrowing of visual field and bracing of muscles, muscle spasm, painful stomach, a pounding heart)

­- anxiety causes a loss or lack of focus and worrying

­- increase the risk of injury because of disruption of concentration and increase muscle tension
