I want to know more about organic farming, so I went to the Organic Farm for today.
I had an unforgettable experience for farming, because it is so tired.
When I back home, I slept within ten minutes.
But I was very happy and I took lots of photos in the farm.

In the farm, I found two articles about organic farming in Hong Kong.
Organic farming in Hong Kong
Kadoorie Farm & Botanical Garden (KFBG) and Produce Green Foundation have practiced organic farming successfully in Hong Kong over the past ten years. For KFBG, they have adopted organic farming techniques since 1995. With the help of organic agriculture methods, over 50 varieties of vegetables and herbs have now been grown and produced on a piece of land once its soil was thin and exhausted. It indicates that their organic farming practices are successful and effective. Another example of organic practice is to use biological controls instead of harmful pesticides for pest management. In 1995, lychee and longan were infected by the Lychee Stinkbug Tessaratoma papillosa. Unharvest of these fruit trees did cause a big problem in their farms. However, with the introduction of a native parasite Anastatus japonicus to parasitize the Stinkbug's eggs, the overall production of lychee and longan had been sharply increased by the end of summer 1997. This further proves that the use of environmentally predators/parasites can be as effective as pesticides and thus the use of harmful chemicals can be highly avoided.
Produce Green Foundation (PGF) is a non-profit charity organization which was founded by a group of environmentalists in 1988. It has several aims to achieve. Firstly, it has established a first organic farm in Fanling. The farm not only provides a good chance for people to learn how to operate and manage a small organic farm in Hong Kong, but also is a good place for local organic agriculture promotion and its development. Besides, PGF offers free teaching materials for schools and community centers to hold some activities on organic farming. Finally, its mass promotion on organic farming and green life to the Hong Kong public via publishing some magazines like 'Hong Kong Organic Product Guide', 'Health Eating' and arranging an 'Organic Farming Festival' in cooperation with the Hong Kong Organic Farming Association

Development of Organic Farming in Hong Kong
Organic farming movement only has a short history in Hong Kong. In 1988, an environmental educational organization called Produce Green (now known as Produce Green Foundation) established an educational farm promoting green lifestyles through the concept of organic farming. Their activities were an important contribution to the development of organic farming in Hong Kong.

As in many other countries, the number of parties interested in organic farming has been on a continuous rise in the 1990's and by 1999, a group of dedicated people founded the Hong Kong Organic Farming Association (HOFA). Farm members practice organic farming according to the protocol laid down by the Association and are active in the promotion of organic movements.
Today a number of organizations in Hong Kong are involved in the promotion and development of organic movements. For examples, the Hong Kong Organic Agriculture Ecological Research Association, maintains the Garden Farm to promote organic farming and the Vegetable Marketing Organization (VMO) is active in the promotion and marketing of organic
