She finds the F4 at the playground Shan Cai declares to Ah Si that she is a virgin and thus has never had an abortion and then she storms off. Hearing that, Ah Si suddenly grins happily to himself. He thinks that Shan Cai telling him that she’s still “pure” is a sign that she likes him. The other F3 are speechless. 

On returning to the classroom, Shan Cai sees Qian Hui and Bai He cleaning the blackboard and overhears them scolding the person who wrote the untrue things. They seem to sympathize with her situation. She thinks that they are on her side and thank them for it. Qian Hui and Bai He invite her to a cocktail party at an expensive club. Knowing that the poor girl has no money to pay for the entrance fee, Qian Hui even offers to pay for her.  

After discussion with Xiao You at the cake shop, Shan Cai decides to go. At that moment, Lei and Mei Zuo enters the cake shop. Lei seems mesmerized by one of the cakes although according to Mei Zuo, he does not like sweet things. Lei decides to buy it because he thinks the cake looks very nice. Mei Zuo says that Lei sometimes behaves awkwardly around girls that he like. However, Lei chides Mei Zuo for spouting rubbish. Shan Cai notices, to her surprise, that Lei is blushing. But Mei Zuo says his awkwardness is definitely not due to Shan Cai. 

The next day, at the club, Shan Cai realizes that the two girls have tricked her. They had told her that it was a casual party and asked her to wear jeans and a red scarf. However, that was actually the dressing of a waitress at the party. The two girls reveal their true nature. Upset, Shan Cai was about to leave but decides that she’ll stay when they laugh at her.  

When 2 men approaches Shan Cai, commenting that she seemed like a girl with a unique personality, Qian Hui and Bai He humiliate her further by claiming that she is immoral and had 2 abortions previously. (Apparently, they are the ones who wrote the comments on the blackboard!) The two men uneasily excused themselves. Subsequently, Qian Hui and Bai He tells Shan Cai that their aim is to end up with rich eligible men like the F4. They tell Shan Cai that she is not fit for this affluent society and warn her to stay away from the F4. Shan Cai is determined to stay at the party and keep her cool. 

In the toilet, Shan Cai overhears them talking about hooking about the rich men at the party. The two of them only plans to get a rich husband, it did not matter whether or not the man was old or young, fat or thin, ugly or good-looking. Shan Cai then gets an idea on how to humiliate them back. 

When Bai He is trying to hook up another rich guy, Shan Cai suddenly sticks herself to Bai He and makes a skeptical of the latter by exclaiming loudly that Bai He had brought her to the party to hook up rich guys. Deliberately acting very unrefined and uncouth, she asks if THAT guy is the kind of rich guys Bai He is to try hooking up with. The guy is very shocked and so is Bai He. She tries to defend herself but Shan Cai immediately grabs a glass of wine and pours it over Bai He. She tells Bai He that they have barked up the wrong tree and that if they liked the F4 so much, they could simply go after them. She warns them to stay away from her and proclaims that they will never be rid of her. With that, Shan Cai walks out of the room with her head high. 

Lei is staring at a poster of a girl. His hand phone reveals a message from a girl called Jing, who tells him that she is coming back. Lei happily skips then runs down the aisle. 

The next morning in school, Shan Cai goes up to the balcony again and is happy when she finds Lei sitting on the ledge. Lei is in a good mood. He tells Shan Cai that he really likes the balcony where he can see a nice view. However, as Lei looks into the sky dreamily and Shan Cai stares dreamily into space, Qian Hui and Bai He videos the two of them secretly. 

After that, the two girls show Shan Cai a magazine (read by the upper class people). The magazine cover shows a picture of the girl that Lei was staring at the night before. She is Teng Tang Jing. A law student studying in France, she is the daughter of a wealthy entrepreneur, is well versed in five different musical instruments, own a boat license and has even won a prestigious award in France. Shan Cai is full of admiration for such a perfect person. The two reveals that Jing is Lei’s childhood sweetheart. Shan Cai is crestfallen. Bai He tells Shan Cai that she is not fit to like Lei and has no right to speak to Lei. Shan Cai is speechless and is heartbroken. They think that she is not at all comparable to Jing and pushes her. Shan Cai knocks into Ah Si. Ah Si glares at the two girls and warn them to stay away from Shan Cai. He claims she is his girl (Shan Cai gives a disgusted look) and that if they ever touched her, they must be prepared to receive the notorious “red note” from the F4. The two could only timidly nod their heads and ran away. Ah Si then assures Shan Cai that with him around, the two will not dare to bully her again. Shan Cai pushes him away (probably still upset over Lei) and shouts at him. Ah Si warns that no one dares to talk to him the way she talks to him but she claims that is because everyone else are idiots. He tells her that no one is as perfect as he is. But she retorts, saying that she hates everything about him including his stupidity and arrogance. Shan Cai replies that he is the sort of person who will do so badly in a personality test that he will be rated as one of those obnoxious people whom everyone hates. She runs away after scolding him, leaving Ah Si to reflect upon her words. 

Back at home; Ah Si forces his housekeeper to do personality tests for him. He does badly in the tests and remembers what Shan Cai said. In frustration, he nearly tears up the personality tests book but his housekeeper stops him and makes him read the page for improving himself. The book tells him to start by changing his outer appearance – to start smiling more often and to wear cuter clothes – and then to start being nicer to the people around him.  

The next day in school, Shan Cai is on her way to school when Mei Zuo and Xi Men invites her to sit with them on a mat under a tree. The two guys start talking about Jing and Lei and tells Shan Cai that Jing is Lei’s first love. They also told her that when Lei was young, he always keeps to himself. When the F4 play together, Lei will just sit in a corner by himself and never ever smiles. Either that or when they are all playing together, Lei will suddenly vomit and then start crying. However, the older Jing will come along and bring Lei away. Whenever he comes back, he will always be all right suddenly. As time passes, Lei’s situation improved. They credit this to Jing. As Shan Cai listens to this, she feels more and more upset. 

Lei is staring at the poster of Jing again. Shan Cai passes by and sees him. Lei receives a message from Jing telling him that she has just boarded the plane and will see him in 17 hours. He is extremely happy and on seeing Shan Cai, tells her that she looks especially pretty and kisses her on her cheek. Shan Cai is stunned. 

Xi Men, Mei Zuo and Lei are resting under a tree when Ah Si comes and meet them in a cute t-shirt. The guys are disgusted but Lei is indifferent. His hand phone rings and its Jing! Immediately, he runs off to meet her and the rest of them follows behind him. On seeing Jing, he rushes up to her and they hug. He tells her that he really misses her a lot. Shan Cai sees them, feels sad and is full of envy for the beautiful Jing. Jing seems indifferent to Lei’s feelings. He suddenly becomes quiet when Mei Zuo talks about Jing’s beautiful poster. There was a second of awkward silence before Ah Si suggests that they should go have a drink. 

At the pub, F4 and Jing are celebrating their reunion. Lei is quiet. When they talk about Lei’s past, Lei snaps at them. He asks Jing why should took such a revealing picture for the poster. (Although it was just a picture of a head?!?) Lei feels that Jing is too perfect to be compared to just any other models. Jing tells him that she appreciates the fact that he always think for her. She gives him a kiss and tells him that she always liked him the most out of the F4. 

At Shan Cai’s home, she is too upset to eat. She realizes that her home situation is really too far off from Jing and decides that she will not think about it anymore. 

In school the next day, Shan Cai meets her old friend, Qing He (acted by Ou Di). Apparently, his family suddenly had a windfall and thus he transferred to the school. He is extremely happy to see Shan Cai. Qing He sees the F4 and thinks they are celebrities. Shan Cai, however, warns him to stay away from them.  

The two of them eats their lunch together and chats happily. The two recalls the past. Ah Si sees them and feels jealous. 

Qing He gets a red note from the F4 and Shan Cai is shocked. She dashes off to find Ah Si and asks him to take back his red note. But Ah Si tells her that he will never take it back. He pushes her on to the grass and scolds her for hanging out with a pathetic boy like Qing He. 

Qing He receives his punishment from the F4.  

Meanwhile, the F4 and Jing are chatting at the table. They are talking about their love lives and they tell Jing that Lei still has no girlfriend. Mei Zuo reminds her that he is still waiting for her. Jing teases Lei and tells him not to get too serious with other girls because he belongs only to her. At that moment, Jing’s friend comes along. He asks if Jing’s boyfriend was Lei. When Jing tells him that they are just good friends, everyone feels awkward and tries to change the subject. The stupid friend continues to persist in asking who her boyfriend is. Ah Si, noticing that Lei is upset, shows the friend the red note as a warning for him to go away. Seeing that, the friend leaves. 

While being chased by the mob, Qing He and Shan Cai run into F4 and Jing. Shan Cai feels embarrassed to see Jing when she is in such a pathetic state. The two of them falls down and the mob of people attacks them. Ah Si smirks. Lei stands up for them and stops the mob from bullying them. Ah Si is shocked and asks if Lei likes Shan Cai. Lei keeps quiet. He tells Lei that he will not speak to him again. Ah Si storms off. Jing helps Shan Cai up and brings her to go clean herself up. 

In the washroom, Jing tells Shan Cai not to be angry with Ah Si who is just a kid. Shan Cai is full of awe for Jing. She thinks that Jing is very beautiful and has a wonderful personality. While Jing tells Shan Cai that she thinks that Lei likes the latter, Shan Cai frantically exclaims that she is not at all comparable to Jing and says that Lei’s heart only has Jing. Jing sorrowfully tells that she feels that Lei will leave her one day. Jing Shan Cai notices Jing’s nice shoes and the latter tells her that in France, she heard of a saying, that everyone must have a pair of nice shoes, because the pair of nice shoes can bring you to many wonderful places.  

Shan Cai goes to the balcony and sees Lei. She thanks him for saving her and feels sorry that because of her, Lei fell out with Ah Si. Lei tells her it’s all right but Shan Cai really wants to know why he saved her. However, she does not say anything when Lei asks if she has anything to ask. 

Meanwhile, Ah Si reflects on the day’s happenings. 

Shan Cai stays with Lei throughout the night and just before daybreak, Lei lets off fireworks. He tells her that someone once told him, that if you were to let off fireworks just before the sun rises (when the angels are returning to heaven), and make a wish, it will come true. 

The next day, Shan Cai meets Qing He to go to school together. He asks if she want to go Hawaii but she tells him that she has no money. He then asks if she wants to go for a cruise. Exhausted from the previous night, she faints at the bus stop.  

Shan Cai is sick at home. Her parents exchange a comical conversation. Her mother tells Shan Cai that she can stop going to Ying De if she really doesn’t want to go. However, she tells her she can simply just get together with Qing He and have a good life. 

Ah Si goes to visit Shan Cai. Her parents mistake him for a hooligan and almost drive him away. They criticize his hair, his attitude and scold him for bullying Shan Cai. They threaten to call up his father and complain. When they find out his father’s name, they go into frenzy because they know he is extremely rich. Shan Cai is embarrassed by their spineless act.
