Learning A New Language In Its Own Country

In order to succeed in the future, it is essential to get to know more than one or two languages besides our mother tongue. That is why these days a lot of people are very keen on learning new language.

Personally, I think that studying a foreign language in the country where the language is spoken is the best way to learn the language.

Teaching a new language in your own country isn’t recognized as the most powerful just like in France. Even a secondary or a high school student “good in languages” with honorable grades in writing is incapable to express himself in an intelligible way in a foreign language. But learning abroad can be revealed efficient to rise these inhibitions; it’s a formula that has been proved.

If it is not sufficient to make a  mediocre student brilliant, it enables him or her to familiarise with the foreign language and to learn the vocabulary especially the daily ones. Would the linguistic stays be a need ? The experience is really advantageous only if it is renewed several years of continuation. It is, therefore, advised to start at least from the secondary school, then to consolidate the assets by several successive stays.

If you don’t have relatives or don’t where to leave. I suggest you to go for staying in a family as I did 2 years ago when I went to Germany, the experience allowed me to adapt with the customs and the habits of the country. The main thing is that I had to get along with the family who received me whom were very kind. I think it’s a very useful idea to stay in a foreigners family, with lesson in the morning with a native speaker from the country and cultural or sports activities in the afternoon. This formula gave me satisfied results and it motivated me to improve my German.

Moreover, I know it happens that some of my friends go back several following years to keep up the ability of their language.

And also, according to the behaviours and personalities of the students, the parents or the student himself or herself should make a choice of a family living in the city or in the countryside. Lives are different, one as we know is peaceful and freedom which is in the countryside. Certain sports are easily accessible, we can practise horsemanship, golf or tennis... And smell the fresh air. Whereas living in the city is to live a dynamic and active life, it’s crowded, it’s cosmopolite, it reserves cultural visits and nights out going. I personally prefer and enjoy the citizen’s life. It suits me better because I love to go shopping , meet new people, go clubbing… Activities that most young adult fancy that’s why I went to study and to improve my English this summer in the United Kingdom and I chose to go to London, the capital city where people are very wonderful and mixed. The reason for why I didn’t chose the USA is because London is near Paris.   

Apart from family stay, there are also vacation camps, not only we can learn language but we can also participate to loads of out going. The experience will beneficial if the student likes the life in a group, providing that the nationalities are mixed enough in order that the language is widely spoken and used.

The advantages of learning in overseas are that you are able to practice the language whenever and wherever with the native speakers, it would benefit you to learn the language more efficiently, quickly and easily. You are living with the language that you are learning.

Everyday, you will listen to radio, watch TV, and if you’re doing this constantly, it can improve your listening skills. The best thing is that you’ll learn the common words and the slang words use everyday. You will have the possibility to talk as a native speaker. Moreover, deeply information about the country’s culture, way of life, traditions and so on, will increase your general cultural knowledge, you will be able to cultivate your experience and learn to be confident and independent.
