My Second Book :
Mama Tina, Christina Noble with Gretta Curran Browne
In her first book ¡§Bridge Across My Sorrow¡¨, Christina Noble revealed about her life as being a street child in Dublin for years. She explained how she experienced and suffered from it.
Now in her second book ¡§Mama Tina¡¨, she shared with us two places where she spent most of her time working with children. The first place is Vietnam, and the other one is Mongolia. Both are situated in Asia and intense poverty, still remains nowadays.
This book describes how children were living their life in these two countries : many died of malnutrition; lots were been sexual abused; abandoned and lived in the streets; Young girls were forced and sold to be prostitutes; some suffered from diseases such as gonorrhea, syphilis or HIV virus¡K Many of them had to commit crimes in order to survive.
To avoid these miserable matters, Christina Noble opened plenty of special care unit centers which contain much facilities that are medical aid, canteen, schooling, physiotherapy, playgrounds, beds¡K etc. These centers are built only for children who can find love, happiness, affection, education, and safety from Christina Noble. She protects them against anything that would hurt her children who she surnamed ¡§Sunshine¡¨. This positive noun symbolizes the beauty of a child. Vietnamese people use to call them ¡§Bui Doi¡¨ which means dust of life and treat them as rubbish. It¡¦s unbelievable to know that people can be so cruel to children¡K
It exists more than 10 Christina Noble Children¡¦s Foundation everywhere in the world. She encountered a great success to the future.
I think it is a very sentimental and emotional book. The way she confessed her story and the achievement of her foundations is clear and detailed. I¡¦m very impressed by her generosity, courage and perseverance to help these poor children. No matter how hard it is, she will do anything to give them her love and her care. She is the type of person who I appreciate and respect a lot. She recovered from a misfortune life and she¡¦s living a wonderful life now.
I really like this book, it¡¦s a very inspirational and touching autobiography, I love this woman who¡¦s willing to help and to fight for her children¡¦s dignity. I haven¡¦t found any negative points as I love the author and her 2 books.
I strongly recommend this book to people who love children and who wants to know what does the term of ¡§Mother¡¦s Love¡¨ really mean. Moreover, there are few pictures about her and her sunshine children.
