Here is our heroine, Sakura, she is a very cute, very active Elementry school girl who accidently let the Cards of the Clow out (well actually Kero chan had a lot to do with it too). Sakura appears to have magical powers since she was able to do that, so she was appointed as a "Card Captor" by Kero-chan. Now she has to capture all of the cards before they wreak havoc on the Earth. Her family is her father, Aiden (Fujitaka), her brother, Tory (Touya) who always picks on her great-grandfather, Masaki Amamiya. Her mother, Nadeshiko, died when Sakura was only 3 years old. She is a very kind and loving little girl and she has good qualities for a card captor. She kinda has a crush on Julian (Yukito), but later in the series she develops a crush on Li (Sayoren). Comments on Sakura's US TV Character: Ok I must say that I was quite pleased that Sakura was keeping her original name and not Nikki like was originally planned. (However they did change her last name to Avalon >.<) But this girl's voice actor is totally off. Well for one thing Sakura is supposed to be a fourth grader, this girl sounds like she's 19 or something. Well I guess I could forgive that, but I can't forgive the slight arrogance of Sakura Avalon's voice. Sakura Kinomoto (Japanese Version) is supposed to be kind of awkward about the whole Card Capturing thing and humble, the US Version of Sakura sounds more assertive and proud, which is ok, but that's just not the real Sakura we all know and love. A great example is Sakura's Rival (US TV Episode #1). In this episode, Sakura and Li are both trying to get the Thunder card. At the end, Madison says something along the lines of "I guess you guys caught the card together?" Then Sakura Avalon says "I could of done it myself" --TOTALLY not a Sakura Kinomoto line. Sakura Kinomoto was more unhappy about the total arrogance/rudeness of Sayoren to be worried about who caught the Clow Card. This little guy is named Kereberos or as Sakura and Madison (Tomoyo) call him Kero (Kero-Chan). (By the way, he DOESN'T like that name). Kero is a cute little lion/bear/dragonfly kinda guy, he is the seal and protector of the Clow Cards. When Sakura accidently let the Cards go, Kero was sleeping and wasn't able to save them. Now Kero is helping Sakura find all of the cards. Kero is pretty full of himself, he likes to watch the videos that Madison (Tomoyo) makes of him, however when it comes down to protecting Sakura, he's her #1 guy. He would do anything for her. It also says he has an Osaka Dialect , So I guess in other words he has some sort of an accent, and since Osaka is in the north, I guess a northern accent. (OH GOD! I hope he doesn't have a New Yorker accent in the US TV series like Meowth!!!!- CONFIRMED in the US TV series, New Yorker/Surfer Boy accent) Well anyhow his real form is a gigantic lion looking guy with wings. He is only in this form because his magic isn't powerful now. Comments on Kero's US TV Character: Ok, so they kept his orginal name (sans the -chan part). But the way they prounounce his real name SAR-OO-BEAR-OOS --it just blows my mind. And if there was ONE character which you really didn't want to mess up on is Kero's, considering he is a big part of the comic relief. The US Kero sounds like a garbage man/surfer/new yorker. His voice is very complex - but that's not a good thing! He says things like awesome duude. ICK!!! The Japanese Kero has a very cool/kiddish kinda voice. Sounds like a little boy sometimes. Having this grubbish kind of voice for Kero limits him very much.....Heh I couldn't even imagine garbage man, heh I mean the US Version of Kero doing a Kero-chan Check! This is Sakura's third cousin and best friend Madison (Tomoyo Daidouji). She is very sweet and nice. She however, has an obsession with Video Taping Sakura and her Adventures capturing the clow cards, (well she tapes her any time actually ^.^). She is the one who fashions Sakura's costumes and is always there to help out Sakura when she needs help doing things. Madison (Tomoyo) is rich also, and always buys things to help Sakura catch the clow cards. She always has female bodyguards around. Tomoyo is the only one in the beginning who knows Kero chan really isn't a doll. Tomoyo looks a lot like Sakura's mother and Tomoyo's mother keeps Tomoyo's hair long. Tomoyo has a weird obsession with Sakura, she always says things like "You're so beautiful Sakura" and "nothing is more exciting than watching Sakura all day long". Kinda freaky. Supposedly when Sakura's mother was still alive, Tomoyo's mother acted the same way towards Sakura's mother. All in all Tomoyo is a good friend to Sakura and always nice (and filthy RICH!) Comments on Madison's US TV Character: Madison has a really "valley girl" type voice, she says things like "what-ever". Madison's voice just doesn't sound like the same sweet innocent girl that is portrayed on the Orignal Japanese version. You don't even hear Madison emphasizing how beautiful she thinks Sakura is, you don't hear about how she wants to video tape Sakura all the time. This is like one of the funniest things going for the Japanese show, the subtle nature of how Tomoyo loves Sakura and wants to be with her/ video tape her always. Not the best dub actor I've heard, not in character at all. This is Sakura's Dad Aiden Avalon (Fujitaka Kinomoto). He is a really nice man who loves his children very much. He is so kind and understanding that when Sakura broke his laptop one time, he said it was ok and that he loved her no matter what happens. Aiden (Fujitaka) got married to Sakura's mother, Natasha (Nadeshiko) when he was 25 years old (she was 16). He loved his wife very much and talks about her often. He is a good dad, he cooks, cleans and is also a college professor. Here is Li (Li Sayoren), he's pretty much Sakura's Rival for the first half of the series. He is a Card Captor as well, and a decendant of Clow Reed to boot. He is from Hong Kong and visits there sometimes to see his mother and sisters (he has a lot of them). Its hard to see how he feels about things because he rarely smiles or shows any emotion. He is also engaged to Meilin Rae (Meiling Li), a girl from Hong Kong as well. Even though he is engaged, he seems to show a LOT of interest in Julian (Yukito), this is basically the only time he ever smiles or blushes is when Julian (Yukito) is around. There's that CLAMP persona at full steam. Comments about Li's US TV Character: Well not much to say about Li's voice. He sounds ok I guess. Some people thing he sorta sounds like Gary Oak from Pokemon - I can kinda see that. But I don't know why Li's US character sounds a lot more chattier than the Japanese one. Here is Julian (Yukito-san), he is the best friend of Tory (Touya) and he is Sakura's first love. (She blushes everytime she sees him and always wants to go with her brother when he sees him.) Yukito seems to like Sakura too, always taking her out for food (and believe me this boy EATS). He also likes to give her presents. Julian (Yukito) is very active, he helps out on about every club in school, even though he doesn't belong to a single one of them. This is Tomoyo's mother and the CEO of her own big toy company. Sonomi is very rich. When She was little, it seems as if she had a relationship with Sakura's mother Nadeshiko just like how Tomoyo and Sakura are. Sonomi was crazy about Nadeshiko and took pictures of her always. Sonomi is a good mother to Tomoyo, however she is hardly ever home because she is so busy with her company. Sonomi has somewhat of a quick temper and despises Sakura's dad, Fujitaka for marrying Nadeshiko and "taking" her away. This is Sakura's mother, Sakura doesn't remember her because she died when Sakura was only 3 years old. Nadeshiko was only 16 when she married Sakura's father, Fujitaka. Sometimes Nadeshiko comes to visit Toya and Sakura as a ghost, and saves Sakura from bad things from time to time.
