Examination skills
- Chemistry's questions are often related to various topics,
so you should study all the topics within the syllabus.
- The one of the two essay-type questions usually asks you to
describe an experimental procedure. When you are doing this type of
question, you should first understand what the question asks you. Then,
think of what points do you have and present them systematically. This is
useful to gain the 3marks of communication skill.
- You are advised not to use more than 15 minutes to finish
one essay-type question.
- As the time is limited, you should do the paper in a great
hurry. Secondly, you should have a plan of allocating how much time on each
section of question before the examination.
- Moreover, you should do at least the past 5years' exam
papers(especially MC questions). And you will find that although the
questions are different, the technique and the concept behind are the same.
- As you are only required to answer 3 questions out of 4 in
Paper ( I )(Section B),read through all the questions and choose those which
you are familiar with .
