The greatest invention around the world!

Do you know what it is? We sit on it everyday, and it can show us how healthy we are. It is a "Water Closet". Although we use it everyday, how many of us give a thought to it. Such as, who know who made it? And how it works?

There are many different kinds of stories about "stool", such as someone discovered it in pyramid of old Egypt, which was built in 200 B.C. And according to some archaeologist, the first "Water Closet" was invented in 1A.D. These histories show us how important the tool is for humans, even though the technology was not good in the past, humans needed it.

The first man who tried to invent "Water Closet" that we use nowadays was Sir John Harrington in 1596. The idea was ridiculed by his peers for this absurd device. Two hundred years passed after another tinker, Alexander Cummings, reinvented Harrington's water closet. Cummings invented the S-trap, a sliding valve between the bowl and the trap. It was the first of its kind.

However, it didn't take long for others to follow Cummings lead. Two years later in 1777, Samuel Prosser applied for and received a patent for a plunger closet.
