What is Team Spirit?
:The spirit of a group that makes the members want the group to succeed;
It・s a pretty simple concept, with good Team Spirit you are more likely to put in a good performance. Bad Team Spirit typically means you've just seen a run of bad results and a lack of form with most things going against them. If the Team Spirit is high, results are a definite possibility even against much better squads, just look at the Wimbledon of the 90's, not the best team in the league but always seemed to have a really good morale amongst the team which saw them make some upsets along the way and kept them as a Premier team for quite some time.
In Hattrick, Team Spirit can drastically affect the performance of your midfield, which can easily be seen through your match ratings. When your Team Spirit drops, you will be able to see a drop in performance in your midfield. So keeping it as high as possible is crucial to the short-term success of your team.

MOTS
MOTS (Match of the Season) is an additional command you can select for games, which can only be selected in competitive matches i.e. League/cup, not friendlies. With this command you will be improving the performance of your team for this specific match by a considerable amount, the negative effect for using this command is that your Team Spirit will fall by half its current denomination straight after the match has finished even if you win. Therefore it is advised only to use this in a situation that you 'can' win, if you have no chance its simply not worth it. Also MOTSing more than twice a season is bad news as you are likely to mean your Team Spirit will stay low near enough all season, unless you have the opportunity to use the PIC command a lot of times. Team Spirit will reset at the end of the season to composed so most people will MOTS on the last league fixture unless they are due to play in the playoff.
PIC
PIC (Play if cool) is basically the opposite of MOTS. Again it can only be selected in competitive games. Using PIC you will notice a definite underperformance on your team in the specific game selected, but the positive is that Team Spirit will improve by 33%. PIC is generally used in games you can still manage to win with a distinct drop in performance. If you think it will be a close game that you could maybe win, that you need to win, PIC is not advisable. If you have a capable team, PIC against all bots and definitely PIC in walkover situations. Some people may also PIC a few games in a run up to a big game where there Team Spirit will be as high as possible so they can MOTS and perform to the highest the team can achieve in a game they might not normally been able to win in.
Coach Leadership
Your coach・s leadership can hugely affect your ability to physically improve your Team Spirit whilst managing your team. Realistically when purchasing a coach try not to have anything lower that inadequate, as your coach will struggle to keep the teams spirit from falling as time goes on. Also the lower the leadership the less effect PIC will have on improving the Team Spirit. Solid leadership is always advisable but this can be costly especially to newbies. Just try not to have weak or below.
Team Leader aka. Clown
A team leader is someone who is in their character reference described as popular and who also has Solid leadership. Having a player with this character will help prevent Team Spirit from dropping. It wont improve, he'll just make sure there・s the same morale each game. He・s the sort of player who will be egging on the lads and keeping there spirits high with jokes in the dressing room. Your Clown does not require to be played at all to play his part of keeping the Team Spirit up.
Coaches
When hiring staff for your club to not exceed more than a combined total of 10 assistant coaches and goaltending coaches.
ie.
Goaltending Coaches: 1
Assistant Coaches: 9
Exceeding more than 10 will lead to confusion amongst your coaches and will definitely have negative effect on your team spirit.
New Players
When making new signing try not to sign players with a character of nasty or controversial as you will see drops in team spirit. Buying players that are pleasant, sympathetic or popular is advised as they will fit in with the current squad a lot quicker and easier, with less chance of team spirit dropping.
