or Sad?
(The first scene opens with Bartley carrying many presents. Other sides, Calvin is lowering his head when he is walking.) Narrator: Bartley goes home alone although he has many presents. Calvin is sad and he goes to a park. (Bartley knocked down and all presents fall to the ground.) Bartley: Oh! My presents… Why you didn't see me? Today I am very unlucky! No one makes friends with me. I only have a lot of presents. Calvin: I'm sorry! I am very sad today. I can't have any presents. And I have three younger sisters and two younger brothers at home. Bartley: Can I make friends with you? We are also unhappy boys. Calvin: Yes, of course. Let's sit there. (Bartley and Calvin sit on the chairs.) Bartley: I go to aunt's house every year in Christmas. Then I get many presents when I go home. I am mot happy about these. No one play with me. Calvin: You are so lucky! Why you are so unhappy? Every year, I didn't get any Christmas presents. If I have a present, I must share it with five younger brothers and sisters. As today is Christmas, I don't have any happy feeling. My dear mother dead when I was seven… (Calvin cries and Bartley comforts him.) Bartley:
My mother dead when I was five years old. My father didn't like me. So
I live alone with some servants. Although my families are rich, I am not
happy. No one wants to make friends with me. Calvin: Oh, thanks! You are a kind boy. My family will please to see you. Let's go to my home! (The second scene opens with Mandy and Sandy standing in front of their house. They are all happy to see Calvin goes home with Bartley.) Sandy & Mandy: Marry Christmas! Calvin, you didn't give us presents. Calvin: Sorry, Sandy and Mandy. I can't give you any presents…! Bartley: Sandy, this is your presents. Mandy, it is yours. (He gives them presents) Merry Christmas! Sandy & Mandy: Thanks…can you tell us who are you? Are you my brother's friend? You are so kind. (Devin and Gavin come and see them.) Devin& Gavin: Hi! Calvin, where are our presents? We can't find these. Calvin: Sorry, Devin and Gavin… Bartley: These are your presents. Merry Christmas, Devin and Gavin. Devin: Thank you, Calvin. Tandy is sick and father looks after her. (Calvin, Bartley and Devin go to the sitting room.) Mr. Clement: Calvin, I'm sorry I can't give you a nice present for Christmas…(say to Bartley) Hi, child. Are you my son's friend? Bartley: Yes, sir. My name is Bartley. I am Calvin's new friend. Merry Christmas! (He gives Mr. Clement two presents) Is Tandy all right? Mr. Clement: Yes, she is all right! Thanks for your presents, Bartley. Narrator: Suddenly they listen a song that is form the street. [With the dawn of re-deem-ing grace, Je-sus, Lord, at Thy birth, Je-sus, Lord, at Thy birth.] Bartley& Calvin: We know "Give is happier than receive" from this Christmas. Merry Christmas! Narrator: So Bartley, Calvin and his sisters and brothers go to the street. They follow the choir members to sing "Joy to the World"! [Joy to the world! The Lord is come; Let earth re-ceive her King; Let ev'ry heart pre-pare Him room, And heav'n and na-ture sing, And heav'n and na-ture sing, And heav'n, and heav'n and na-ture sing.] End (Written in F.2, 02Oct 2001) |
