Description:
The Bichon Frise is a small, white, friendly, fluffy, agile dog with short legs and a silky coat. It is also known as the Tenerife dog. The Bichon Frise was originally bred in the 1400's as a companion dog for royalty in Spain and France. It is descended from the Water-Spaniel. In the 1800's, the Bichon Frise was used in circuses and by organ grinders.

Anatomy:
The Bichon Frise is from 9 to 12 inches (23-31 cm) tall at the shoulders and weighs from 7 to 12 pounds (3-6 kg). It has a white, silky, double coat, giving it a powder-puff look. The under coat is soft and dense; the outer coat is coarser with corkscrew curls. The ears droop down and are covered with long, curly hair.

Anatomy:
The Boxer is about 21 to 25 inches (53-63 cm) tall at the shoulders and weighs roughly 66 to 70 pounds (25-32 kg). The short-haired coat is brown with white markings; the Boxer is easily groomed.

The German shepherd has been popular as a working farm dog, as a rescue dog, as a guide dog to the disabled, as a police dog, as a Red Cross dog in World War I, and in films (Rin-Tin-Tin was a German Shepherd). Although the German Shepherd, like all dogs, is a descendant of the wolf (which is a natural predator of sheep and other mammals), the German Shepherd does not attack the animals that it was bred to herd.

Anatomy: The German Shepherd Dog is a medium-sized dog, with various combinations of black, tan, rust, cream, and white fur. It is about 2 ft (60 cm) tall at the shoulders and weighs roughly 75-95 pounds (35-45 kg).

Description:
The St. Bernard is a large, heavy, muscular and heroic dog. It is also known as the St. Bernardshund. This heroic dog has rescued many people stranded in the snowy mountains of Europe. It was originally bred about 1,000 years ago in Switzerland, at the Hospice of St. Bernard.

Anatomy: The St. Bernard is about 24 to 28 inches (60-70 cm) tall at the shoulders, and weighs 110 to 200 pounds (50-90 kg). The coat is mostly white, with brown or red-brown patches. There are both short- and long-haired forms of the Saint Bernard.
