Easter Bunnies
Makes 2 bunnies
Ingredients:
500 ml flour
15 ml baking powder
2 ml salt
75 ml sugar
75 ml margarine
150-175 ml milk
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 425oF.
2. Sift and measure flour. Resift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a large bowl.
3. Cut in margarine with a pastry blender until the sixze of small peas.
4. Add milk gradually, tossing lightly upward with a fork.
5. Turn out onto a lightly floured counter and knead gently 8-10 times.
6. Cut dough in half.
To make each rabbit:
a. Divide dough in to half and one of the half divide it into half again so that it's a quarter of a cake.
b. Shape body section into an oval.
c. Place on greased baking sheet.
d. Shape head section into a ball. Place above body; pinch to seal head to body.
e. Divide remaining section into six pieces; shape into ovals. Attach four to body for paws and the two remaining pieces to head for ears. Pinch tips of ears and turn one tip slightly down toward the head.
f. Press cherry halves into face for eyes and mouth. Press green cherry strips into face to make whiskers. Press a raisin into center of rabbits's tummy and 1/2 raisin into face for a nose.
g. Bake 12-15 min. or until lightly browned. |
