Valentine Cookies

Ingredients:
60 ml margarine
125 ml sugar
1 egg
2 ml vanilla
300 ml flour
2 ml baking soda
1 ml cream of tartar
1 ml salt

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 375oF.
2. Cream fat and sugar in a large bowl.
3. Add egg and vanilla and beat well.
4. Sift flour. Re-sift flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt in a medium bowl.
5. Add sifted dry ingredients to creamed fat and sugar and stir well with a wooden spoon.
6. Roll out on a lightly floured counter with a floured rolling pin.
7. Cut out shapes close together.
8. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with coloured sugar.
9. Bake 7-8 minutes or until lightly browned on bottom. Watch carefully. Note: Top of cookie will still be white in colour.
10. Remove from pan immediately too cooling racks.
