Chinese Chow-Mein
Ingredients:
1/4 carrot
1 chunk green pepper
1/4 onion
6 pods snowpeas
1/2 clove garlic
1 piece
ginger
250 ml noodles
10 ml soya sauce
10 ml cornstarch
50 ml cold water
15 ml oil
Method:
1. Set apot of water to boil.
2. Place nooldes in boiling water and cook until water boils again.
3. Remove and drain well.
4. Slice onion.
5. Prepare snowpeas.
6. Slice carrot, green pepepr.
7. Mince garlic and ginger.
8. Combine soya sauce and cornstarch in a soup bowl. Stir to a smooth paste.
9. Add water and stir. Liquid should be opaque.
10. Stir-fry noodles. Remove and place on serving plates.
11. Place 5 ml oil in wok and stir-fry garlic and ginger.
12. Add carrot, cook for 1 minute.
13. Add onion, green pepepr and sonwpeas adn stir-fry for 2 minutes. Stir constantly.
14. Add soya sauce mixture to stir-fry when vegetables are almost tender.
15. Bring to boil for 1 minute. Allow sauce to thicken.
16. Serve over noodles immediately. |
