General Description

Leaf

Size

1 to 2 cm wide

  Leaves are alternate, pinnate, feather-shape, about 1 m long. Bright green in color, often with a yellow tinge.

Flower

Sex unisexual
  Flowers are yellow, minute, on a much branched inflorescence which emerges from a loose tubular spathe below the leaves.

  Male flowers are with six perianth parts and six stamens. Female flowers are with six perianth parts and a one-celled ovary topped by a short style and broad stigma.

Fruit

Size Fruit oval is 1.5cm long

  Asymmetric.  At first yellow then violet-black when ripe.
