Today DENNIS remain in Guildford, functioning from a new 40,000 m2, purpose built facility. Operations focus on the manufacture of bus, coach and fire appliance chassis with complete after sales service, parts and technical support.

The overall DENNIS strategy is to purpose design and build cost effective transport solutions through innovative design and continuous development. Using close customer relations and flexible production processes DENNIS products develop quickly to meet changing market needs. DENNIS do not build major components such as axles, engines or gearboxes but instead choose the best that world wide component manufacturers have to offer. This gives increased design flexibility allowing precision matching of component to vehicles to suit the final operators requirement. This achieves a high reputation for performance, build quality and durability, together with low running costs therefore maximising operator revenue.

The success of this strategy is evident from the positive reaction upon launching the Javelin coach chassis and Dart city bus chassis. Within 4 years the Dart became Britain's best selling bus and led to further development; the Dart SLF - Super Low Floor variant. This in turn has led to the super low floor concept being extended to Trident double deck buses in both two and three axle formats. The purpose built Rapier and Sabre fire appliance chassis cabs also received similar praise and return excellent performance, safety and operator benefits.

World wide export market success include Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and Hong Kong.

DENNIS manufacture chassis only and sell direct to end-users, such as public and private transport undertakings, fire brigades, as well as bodybuilders and distributors.

Major Achievements
Quality management system which meets the international standards of BS EN ISO 9001 ensures a high level of build quality for every chassis, and guarantees the integrity of the Company's production and design systems.

In March 1994, the Design Council selected the Rapier for the British Design Award. This prestigious milestone endorses the safety, handling and design of the Rapier fire appliance.

Forward, innovative thinking, close customer relations and product development will ensure DENNIS stay at the forefront of market needs and will continue to be
DRIVING AHEAD BY DESIGN.
