Following the 11.3-metre DENNIS Tridents, New World First Bus (NWFB) launched another version of the model in June 1999. This version, with 10.6 metres in length, is 0.7 metres shorter than the former one. First 10.6-metre Dennis Trident was introduced by Citybus about one month earlier. Besides NWFB and Citybus, Kowloon Motor Bus also ordered 10.6-metre DENNIS Tridents.

NWFB 1601 (JC 6299) is the first 10.6-metre 3-axle DENNIS Trident for the company. A special panel advertisement is applied on both sides of the bus. If you have a closer look you may see that actually it is a ruler, showing the scales and indicating that the bus is 10.6 metres long. The Chinese characters inside the ruler form a slogan, telling the public this bus is 10.6 metres long, and has higher manoeuvreability than 3-axle bus of other lengths.
